This episode takes place in a state besides Louisiana because counties in that state are referred to as parishes and here the setting is called Midas County.
Cal (slugs Rex): There's my resignation. Ridiculous or not.
Tarbo: You in a hurry, Buster? Cal: My name's not Buster. Tarbo: Is that so, Buster? Cal: You got a ticket let's have it but save the lip for your no account friends.
Mayor: Are you doubtin' my word? Cal: A man would be foolish to do that.
Cal: As far as graft goes the biggest melon in the whole state is right here in Midas City. It's a whole melon patch.
Cal: Everytime I get slugged with a blackjack I get kinda drowsy.
Cal (to Tarbo): I swear I've never been so tired of one man in all my life.
Tate: A man can learn a lot if he pays attention. Cal: I'm beginning to find that out.
Tate: Find out if our friend Mr. Calhoun is still tied up with that detective outfit in New Orleans. Tarbo: And if he is? Tate: Whadda you think, cousin?
Cal: Suddenly everybody is calling me Buster. Betty Jane: Well this is Midas City. Everybody calls everybody Buster.
Tate: Now what I want you to do for me, Mr. Calhoun, is go on down to the Hall of Records and get me all the names of the registered voters that died in the last year. Now just because they're gone ain't no reason not to vote the right ticket.
Kenny: Where are you goin'? Rex: To see a man about a horse in Midas City.
Cal: Do you realize what'd happen if they tied me in with Randolph and Calhoun? We'd both be dead. Rex: Well in that case they'll just have to give us matching tombstones.
Randy Stuart would return as Betty Jane Robinson in Interrupted Wedding.
Van Williams appears in only one scene in this episode. Arlene Howell does not appear at all.
In this episode we learn that Cal's parents were killed in a boating accident when he was young.
