This episode borrows heavily on elements from the classic 1948 film Key Largo.
Mara: Why, Brad, if you were coming down to the island, why didn't you phone? Dennison: If I'd phoned, you'd told me not to come.
Camden (about Dennison): How is he? Komack: He'll be all right. I gave him the 30 minute dose.
Rex (to Jan): You are about the loveliest excuse to avoid work I've met all day.
Mara: I can handle men, money, and myself, Barbara, but the weather is a little out of my field.
Barbara (about hurricanes): Why do they always name 'em after women? Komack: Violent, dangerous, unpredictable. All female characteristics.
Rex (to Jan): I can't stand women drivers especially in hurricanes.
Komack: You and Teresa have something in common, Mara--inner violence.
Mara (to Rex): I might have known a family like the Dennisons would hire only the best retriever to track down a missing son.
Rex: Composure, Jan my love, is the chief asset of a good liar.
Jan: I've never been in a hurricane before, Rex. What is it like? Rex: Just imagine how an egg feels when it runs through an egg beater.
Dennison (to Jan): No need for dad to worry. Teresa's taught me my lesson.
Richard Duggan and Van Williams only appear in the closing scene of this episode.
Gary Vinson would later appear in The Roaring 20's, McHale's Navy, and Pistols and Petticoats.
John Beradino would later play Dr. Steve Hardy for many years on the daytime drama General Hospital.
