In this episode, Mr. Feeny is the English teacher; but in Sixteen Candles and 400-lb. Men and Easy Street, Mr. Turner is teaching them poetry.
Alan: Hey, hold on right there! You know, every day I ask you "What did you do?" and every day you tell me "Nothing." Well I'm tired of "nothing." I mean, we both know something happened today and I want to know what it is. Cory: I decided to be a girl. Alan: Well, you taught me a very valuable lesson there, son.
Cory: Shawnie, way to go! Topanga: You got the date! (Shawn is silent) Cory: What? Shawn: I have nothing to wear.
Cory (as the waitress, Cora): And tipping is not a city in China.
Cory: My hosiery is bunching!
Title: Chick Like Me This is a reference to the 1961 book Black Like Me, by John Howard Griffin. The book inspires Cory to write an episode on the female experience of dating.
