When a surge from a microwave oven transports Cory back to 1957, he is mistaken for a spy because of his knowledge of Russian space tactics.
  • Weird

    9.5
    "Superb"
In this episode, Cory goes back in time to the 1950's, and people think he is a spy. This episode has references to a lot of big time, popular things around the 1950's-60's-70's.

This episode is really weird, but that doesn't always equal badness. This is one of the most surreal episodes of the whole series. Is it the worst? No, just strange. It had a lot of good lines from most characters. I can't say I enjoyed the plot a whole lot. But for what it is worth, this is an enjoyable episode most fans will think is strange, but most should like itmoreless
  • A decade I'd like to call the 1950s!

    9.1
    "Superb"
This episode was light comparing to all the dramatic recent ones, & that is good because it shows that it's nice to take a break from the drama, in this episode, while working on his term paper, Cory is sent back 40 years in the past & because he knows so much, people think he is a Russian spy, he befriends 2 people, TL (Topanga) & Shawnzie (Shawn). Behind all the comedy of this episode, it leaves a hint that Topanga & Cory are going to be together again, which is always nice to see, Eric's smart in the past! Hilarious episode, but ends up to be a dream.moreless
  • This episode put fans minds at ease with one kiss.

    9.0
    "Superb"
Only two episodes later, Cory and Topanga would be reunited in lovely sitcom bliss; allowing millions of BMW fans to breath a collective sigh of relief. Peace was just around the corner and it was all foreshadowed with one kiss. Cory meets T.L. and Shawnzy in this "Happy Days" spoofed, time travel episode. The story line is entertaining and the jokes are funny; but the instance that would stand out would be Cory and Topanga's first kiss since their break up, seven long episodes ago. Audiences would only have to wait two more episodes for their perfect couple to get back together.moreless
  • It's 1957!

    10
    "Perfect"
Cory gets shocked by the microwave and travels back to the 1950's. It's a different world with fears of Russian spies and bombs. Everyone thinks that Cory is a Russian spy. The only people who believe him is Shawnzie and T.L. Cory falls in love with T.L. and becomes Shawnzie's best friend. Cory gets put in jail and his parents come to rescue him. He wakes up in 1996 again to find his family and his friends there right beside him.

This was a great episode! I liked it a lot. It showed how much he loved Topanga and Shawn. It was a funny episode and it gets a 10!moreless

    • Goof: In 1957, Morgan is the only one who knows Cory, while his friends all think he is a new student.

    • It's 1957 and TL is doing the Twist. The Twist didn't debut until 1960. However, since the episode is actually Cory's dream, it would make sense that there are anachronisms like this. It's not really 1957, it's Cory's perception of what 1957 would be like.

  • QUOTES (8)

    ADD QUOTES
    • Mr. Feeny: Young lady, your hair is far to high; a clear violation of school policy and a hazard to all low-flying aircraft. TL: If I see an ae-ro-plane, I'll duck, a'ight?

    • Cory (waking up from his dream): I'm not Brad Pitt! I'm not Brad Pitt! Morgan: Well, duh.

    • Mr. Turner: How about you Shawnzie; what do you think life will be like in 40 years? Shawnzie: I don't know. I don't know what I'm having for lunch. Mr. Turner: That was this close to a shenanigan.

    • Cory: Topanga, there you are! TL: Listen Archie! The name's T-L! Cory: As in Topanga Lawrence. TL: As in Tough Luck, for suckers who don't know better.

    • Topanga: Why are you looking at me like that? Cory: I will always look at you like this. Topanga: Well stop. Cory: Why? Topanga: Because your giving me the heebie-jeebies. Cory: Good.

    • Mr. Feeny: I heard a scream. Cory: Oh, Mr. Feeny, don't expect to get my paper on time. Mr. Feeny: I never do.

    • Eric (in the 50's flashback): I've been accepted to both Harvard and Yale. You're my mentor. What's your advice? Mr. Feeny: Oh you'd be a fine student at either institution. Eric: Oh, undoubtedly I would, but they've asked me to teach. Mr. Feeny: Well as you know, Mr Matthews, there are no females at Harvard. Eric: Well I wouldn't anything to distract me from my intellectual pursuits. Harvard it is.

    • Cory (upon waking): Shawnzie? Shawn (bewildered): Yessie?
