Mr. Turner thinks his students will still study the material if they think they won't be tested on it. He tells the students that participation in class discussion will replace the test. When Mr. Feeny gets wind of this, he has another idea: Test the students when they think they won't be tested to see if they still did the work.
When Mr. Turner appears with the test, Cory and the class feel betrayed and they walk out of the class room. Mr. Feeny intimidates the rest of the class into returning to take the test. Cory takes it one step further and leaves school with Shawn.
When Cory's parents hear about the days events they get angry; but Mr. Turner shows up to set the boys straight.
The boys realize that they aren't in the real world, they don't have jobs (or mob connections)and it was wrong of them to walk out. The apologize to Mr. Feeny who accepts and is glad the boys learned a lesson from the book.
