At the beginning of the episode Mr. Feeny tells the class that the United States entered World War 2 on December 7th, 1941 as FDR said, "A day that will live in infamy." This is a misquote as FDR actually said, "A date which will live in infamy."
When Mr. Feeny announces that the United States is at war, he and the students are at school, which implies it was a weekday. December 7, 1941, the day of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and the day the USA joined the war, was a Sunday.
At the beginning of the episode, Cory forgets his books on his desk as he leaves, talking to Topanga.
Eric: I wish I was going with you, Jack. Fighting the good fight.
Jack: You would've made a great soldier. I would've loved to have you by my side.
Eric: You still can, pal. Here. (unfolds an 8x10) It's a picture of me. I want you to take it with you. Put it in the foxhole, over your bed.
Jack: People will talk.
Eric: I know. That's a great picture.
Eric: Everybody's doing their part in this war. I want to help. I'm going back to that recruitment office and tell them that a little case of flat feet isn't gonna stop Eric Matthews from fighting those evil Canadians.
Alan: I have a feeling it's not the flat feet.
Amy: Oh no. Surely the army can make due without at least one of my men!
Eric: They wouldn't take me. I have flat feet and I'm too ticklish. Apparently I'm a torture risk.
Shawn: Cory, we're going down to enlist. Uncle Sam wants us. I wasn't gonna go but he was pointing right at me.
Topanga: You know, he asked her to marry him on December 7th, 1941.
Cory: Wait, I know that date. Help me out here.
Shawn: Pearl Harbor. "The day that will live in infamy". Feeny was just talking about it.
Cory: You listened to Feeny.
Shawn: Oh my God! I listened to Feeny!
Topanga: Wait, I object. I can't do this. Cory is alive, I can feel it. When you love somebody you just know.
Amy: I know. That's why I sent Eric.
Morgan: Mom, think about what you just said.
Mr. Feeny: Shawn marrying Topanga...this is weird. On the other hand, who would have thought that as principal, I could perform marriages?
