  • Good!

Cory wants a girl to at least say "hi" to him. Eric takes a date into his parent's bedroom. Eric gives girl advice to Cory; unfortunately, it's the wrong advice which lands Eric in trouble when his parents find out about the girl and the advice. Shawn gets a lot of girls to notice him.

I liked this episode, but it wasn't great! It was funny, but it wasn't completely suitable for kids. The making out and talk of human reproduction was a little more on the teen side. I loved the end when Cory put his hand to his face! He looked so cute there! This episode gets a 9 out of 10!moreless
  • cory wants a girlfriend

everybody at john adams high is pairing off, and cory wants to fit in, so he asks Topanga. She says no and cory asks eric for advice. of course, this episode is the one with eric, his girlfriend, and the whole diamond earring thing. eric tells cory to pretend to be interested in what the girl has to say. cory tries it, but ends up being himself (nodding a lot and being nervous, according to him at the end of the episode) and goes out with wendy.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Continuity Goof: In season 1, Amy works as a real estate agent. In this episode, she works in an art gallery.

    • At the end of this episode, when Eric & Cory are talking about Cory's date, Eric walks from his desk to the bed, and we see the bedroom door is open. When he walks back to his desk, the door is closed.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Alan: Eric, since the beginning of time, fathers have told their sons not to rush into sex and the sons have said "yeah, sure." I did not understand my father until this very moment and you won't understand until you're a father which will not be for a very, very long time!
      Cory: Dad?
      Alan: LEARN HER NAME!

    • Shawn: I wonder what kind of creepy substitute we'll get today.
      (Ms. Kelly walks in)
      Cory: Wow.
Shawn: That is no substitute. That is the real thing.

    • Ms. Kelly: All right, who can tell us the name of the organ where the eggs are stored, (to Shawn) officer?
Shawn: Sorry Ms. Kelly, I don't have that stuff. I can name the stuff I have; at least what I call them.

    • Eric: Nothing happened between me and Rebecca if that's what you're thinking.
Amy: Why should we believe that nothing happened?
Eric: Look at my face. Do I look happy?
Alan: (looks at Eric's face) Nothing happened.

    • Cory (in health class, talking to the teacher): Well, the man's got the sperm and the woman's got the egg. Now once a month, an egg slides down the Philippine tube towards the uterus. The first sperm to reach the egg wins. It gets a medal; it's born; you name him Cory; you push him out the door, and nothing makes sense for the rest of his life.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Mr. Feeny: Ah, Mr. Heckle and Mr. Jeckle, don't we have classes to attend?

Mr. Feeny calls Cory and Shawn Heckle and Jeckle when he greets them at the start of the episode. Heckle and Jeckle were a pair of irreverent and mischievous magpies from the Terrytoons cartoon series.

    • Student Couples
The student couples that Shawn and Cory comment on throughout the episode are allusions to real-life celebrity couples that existed when the episode aired. 'Richard and Cindy' are Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford, married from 1991-1995. 'Jerry and Shoshona' are Jerry Seinfeld and Shoshona Lonstein who had a four-year live-in relationship and 'Michael and Lisa-Marie' are Michael Jackson and Lisa-Marie Presley who were married from 1994-1996.
