Eric visits Mr. Feeny's students to talk about the new school they will all be attending next year. He tells them how fun it will and imparts such wisdom as "cool clothes are a must".
The next day, Topanga shows up at Cory's house with brownies. Cory is surprised that Topanga is being nice to him, considering he always makes fun of her. She offers to bring over a cool monster movie and Cory hesitantly accepts. Cory thinks Topanga likes him; but when Topanga leaves her notebook in the lunchroom Cory and Shawn look through it, only to discover that Topanga's crush is on Eric.
Cory informs Eric of Topanga's feelings and Eric laughs it off. When Topanga comes over with the movie, Eric sits down her down to talk. He explains tha it's ok to think someone is cute but she is too young to understand her true feelings. Topanga is hurt and decides to go home.
Later, Eric discusses his classroom visit with Mr. Feeny. Mr. Feeny expresses his disappointment that Eric did not inform the class of the troubles they will face in the new school.
Eric returns to Mr. Feeny's class to tell the students the real truth abuout high school. He explains that there will be many new kids from other schools and some of those kids will try to pressure them into doing things they shouldn't. Cory states that he's not interested in those things; but Eric makes sure to tell the class that interests change. They are growing up; and some have already started. Topanga now understands what Eric was saying earlier, begins to feel better.
