  • Cory learns the importance of being appreciated!

Cory is picked for the second string for basketball, not the first string. He feels like he isn't good enough because the second string just sits on the bench. Then at home, no one pays attention to him and he thinks that he is the least important of the family. Cory finds himself home alone and goes to Mr. Feeny's. Mr. Feeny tells him that they went to watch Cory's game. Cory asks Mr. Feeny to drive him there and because 3 first string players are fouled out, Cory gets to play and scores 6 points!

This was a great episode! I liked how his family supported him even if he wasn't going to play! This was a great episode and I give it a 9.5!
  • Cory makes the B team in basketball, but soon feels like he is on the B team in his own family.

Cory is crushed when he realizes he made the B team, and his friends quickly desert him. Minkus on the other hand is thrilled to have made the basketball team, and revels on just "riding the bench". At home Cory flips out because his parents don't pay attention to him. He makes up a phony story about the game, but confesses it was all a lie. Cory exresses how he had to lie to get their attention. Mr. Feeny, with a little help from Mr. Darwin, gets Cory to try harder, and aspire to be on the A team. Shawn trys to cheer Cory up also, by showing him great sports stars who rode the bench. Cory's parents drive all the way to an away game just to support him, but are unaware that B team doesn't play away games. In the end Cory is put in the game, and comes home a hero. I really liked this episode, because it took an issue not unfamiliar to 6th graders and gave u a great moral at the end. This is one of the best from season 1.
  • Cory is on his school\'s basketball b-team with Minkus

Cory gets drafted for his school\'s b-team for basketball, and feels that he is insignificant in everything he does. Cory feels very bad and doesn\'t want to go to the games because the b-team barely plays. He\'s especially upset because Shawn is on the a-team and Cory himself is with Minkus on the b-team.
