  • An excellent, realistic episode albeit a little overly negative. Cory and Topanga return from their honeymoon to find they have no place to live, and must struggle to adapt to their new married life.moreless

    Finally, a show that is not afraid to show the realities of married life for some people. Although it is somewhat out of character for Cory and Topanga (her especially) to have not considered where they would live after getting married, the writers present the issue in a fairly realistic way. The episode only highlights what their families had been warning them about: at such a young age, marriage will be very difficult, no matter how much they love each other.

    Others have complained about Cory and Topanga being whiny and overly helpless in this episode, however this seems a little unfair. The apartment they finally received is probably a little more disgusting than most newlyweds in their situation have to put up with. But it was a very good thing for the episode not to show them having an easy time of it right from the start. Newly married couples, especially those that are so young, typically do struggle that way. The only real complaint is that neither of them seemed to even consider getting a job. Their situation may be a little overly negative, as they have a very dirty apartment, no support whatsoever from friends and family, and no money. However, it serves its purpose to show that it is Cory and Topanga now, not Cory and his family. They had been repeatedly advised to wait until they were older or finished college, but they made their decision. At least the show was brave enough to tackle it in a realistic, even dark, kind of manner.moreless

    Cory and Topanga return and must face the real world. They have to find a place to live. Shawn moved into the apartment with Rachel and Angela and Eric and Jack moved into the dorm. Amy and Alan won't help Cory and Topanga by letting them stay there. They must live in the married couple's dorms. It's a dirty rotten dorm with a small kitchen. Babies are crying and couples are fighting. They are completely exhausted.

    This was a great episode! I liked it when Cory and Topanga were arguing with Mr. Feeny. That was hilarious!I thought that Cory and Alan fighting was really sad. I think that Alan and Amy should've at least let Cory and Topanga stay for a night. I loved this epsisode though and it gets a 9.5!moreless

    this episode is strange - it was ok but not the best (definitely not the best). cory and topanga act pretty much like babies instead of acting grown up because they ARE in college. they shouldnt like be going to class totally unkempt (i think that was this episode), but i just dont know about this one. and a married dorm in college? and the way that dorm looked? hmmmmm

    Cory and Topanga return from their honeymoon, and we find that they never made plans for where they would live after they were married. I realize that they moved the wedding up, but this is so out of character! Cory would do anything to take care of Topanga, and Topanga is such a control freak she would have had an apartment rented and completely furnished before the wedding. They go first to the apartment Topanga was sharing with Angela and Rachel, but the girls have rented her room to Shawn. They go to Cory and Shawn's old dorm room, but Eric and Jack live there now, and they point out the fact that married couples are not allowed to live in any dorms except the Married Couples dorm. They go to Cory's parents house, but Alan wants them to work this out on their own as a couple. Amy almost caves, but Alan stands firm, and she agrees. They finally go to the married couples dorms, but they are really bad. The apartment is dirty, the furniture is broken, the water comes out of the faucets brown, the neighbors are noisy, and there are large bugs. Instead of rolling up their shirt sleeves and fixing the place up, Cory and Topanga feel sorry for themselves and try to find any way they can to get out of this. The episode ends with them sharing a tuna sandwich and looking totally pathetic. Thankfully they snap out of it in the next couple of episodes.moreless

    This episode is really interesting to watch because Cory and Topanga are finally thrown out on their own. For once, a TV Show is not afraid to show that it's better to force your kids to leave the nest rather than try to keep everyone around forever a'la The Waltons and 7th Heaven, where they try everything to keep their kids from moving away. It's even better next episode when they learn why Alan and Amy wouldn't let them stay there. All I've gotta say is...welcome to being married, Cory and Topanga. It's too bad those bugs are so annoying :-(.moreless
