Cory and Topanga come home and are anxious to begin their new life as a married couple. Topanga and Cory think that they are both going to live in her apartment that she shares with Rachel and Angela. When they arrive they find out that Shawn has moved in Topanga's room, because he assumed that Cory and Topanga were going to live together somewhere else. Their next stop is Cory's dorm, but they run into a problem there as well. Eric and Jack have moved in to his dorm because married students have to live in special dorms on campus. Cory then turns to his parents for help. He begs his parents to let them live there temporarily but they refuse.
With nowhere else to turn, Cory and Topanga have no choice but to move into the substandard campus housing for married students. Right as they step foot in the door, they both notice how unpleasant the place is. The room is infested with bugs and is falling apart, and their neighbors have a baby that cries hysterically all night. Cory doesn't understand why his parents won't help them out, so he confronts them the next day. Alan explains to him that he decided to get married to Topanga, and they supported him, but now he is getting a taste of how different things are. Cory realizes how unprepared he was for the many aspects of life after marriage, such as financial support and a place to live.
Although they have the moral support of their friends and family, Cory and Topanga realize that this is something that they will have to deal with by themselves.
