Shawn and Cory plan the first ever Hunter-Matthews Thanksgiving celebration, but class differences make the families uncomfortable.
  • This is a very good example of class discrimination and how to overcome it.

Wow! This episode was very powerful! Cory and Shawn wanted to spend the Thanksgiving holidays together and have dinner at Shawns house. The only problem was, Shawn's family was a lower class family. He lives in a trailer park, and some of the people in the trailer park strongly objected to having a higher class family in their area.
The families can't seem to get along because of their class. But they learn that it's not about how rich someone is. That doesn't matter. It's who the person is. It's what's inside of them.
They all managed to set aside their differences and become friends.
This episode really touched me, especially the end.

It's a very good example of class discrimination and how we should try to overcome it.moreless

    • Mr. Feeny: I'm sure you're all aware of the conflict in Burundi, which is now spilling over into Rwanda and Uganda. Cory: He's making these names up. Shawn: He's finally run out of stuff to teach. Mr. Feeny: The Burundian conflict centers on class differences between the poorer Hutu's and the richer Tutsi's. Shawn: We're gonna have to put a bag over him and drag him out of the room. Cory: That way we save his dignity.

    • Shawn: Lose the purse and I'll take you seriously. Cory: But it goes with my shoes.

    • Amy: I am very surprised by this family's negative attitude. Morgan: I have to go to the bathroom. Amy: Not here, honey. Hold it 'til we get home.

    • (at the Hunters' trailer park) Amy: Oh, I left my purse in the car. Alan: What do you need your purse for? Amy: I just don't want to leave it in the car, OK? Alan: Well, I don't want to leave the car in the car, but we're stuck with it, OK?

    • Virna: I think gettin' together with the Matthews is a wonderful idea. Chet: Have you been drinkin'?

    • Cory: Isn't this fun? Shawn: It's an episode of Cops waiting to happen.
