I'll keep this thread stickied, just to report various things about Season 5.

All I know right now is that they have gone back into the writing room (Nov. 2011) and that there is a 16 episode order (3 extra episodes).

Oh and you can win a walk-on role if you live in the U.S., so check out www.amctv.com/breakingbad

Anna Gunn has said (look on Wikipedia or IMDB BB news) that the 5th season will be broke into two 8 episode mini-seasons the first of which begins filming soon and the second of which films in winter 2013. I hope she meant to say winter 2012, otherwise it seems season 5 will air this year, then season 6 won't air until early 2014.

As much as I love this show, the above is far too long to wait for 16 episodes in my opinion, especially as we had to wait a year for season 4. Again, I hope Anna Gunn meant the final 8 episodes are to be filmed in winter of 2012, so they will air in 2013.

Yeah Aaron Paul also confirmed that they are heading back into filming soon. I think AMC is gunning for a late summer 2012 airdate for the first 8 episodes. That way Vince and the team can setup something and work hard on the last 8 episodes.

These last 8 episodes would not probably air until early 2013.

My only concern about the final season of Breaking Bad is, can Walter White pass away in the series finale? I mean, he is suffering from terminal (stage 4) cancer.

I don't see how that is a concern. Whether he dies or not it's a win win situation. If he dies, his death will be epic with a bang (which is likely since he's done a LOT of crazy shit and usually karma or whatever bites you in the ass). If he doesn't die...he lives (and that by definition is a win). Reeaaaaal looking forward for this season...it's gonna be tight, tight, TIGHT! (damn shame Tuco's dead)

On his Twitter Bryan Cranston has said that the 5th season will start in July. I'm guessing on the 17th, like season 4.

Its sad that they screw Cranston out of emmys just to promote Mad Men.

I think it's worse that they take budget away from other shows for Mad Men.

Anyway, I really have hope that season 4 of Breaking Bad (if they submit Crawl Space) should beat any episode of Mad Men season 5 at this years emmy's.

Season 4 ended the series nicely for me. I can only imagine they will ruin it with another season.

It was a great run, but I won't be watching any new shows. Season 4 = The End. "I WON!"

They didn't screw BrBa aout of anything, it wasn't nominated because the season started too late, so it was ineligible.
Going by that, season 4 should be nominated this year's Emmys.

Returns JULY 15th. Whoever bought the Hell on Wheels season 1 DVD set - apparently there were flyers inside promoting the premiere.
