Where does Skylar reveal that she has been keeping all of Walts money?

This is the third episode to feature a large time jump. The second season finale "ABQ" and season 3 premiere "No Mas" features a time jump of a few weeks to forward the aftermath of the plane crash while Walt also recovers from surgery.

The Walt Whitman Leaves of Grass book did not appear out of nowhere.Gale gave Walt the copy in the episode "Sunset" (season 3) and Walt is shownreading the book when he receives a call from Hank. The book was also shown in the episode "Hazard Pay"when Walt was unpacking his belongings upon moving back into his house with the family.

"Crystal Blue Persuasion" seems to work seamlessly with the blue meth, however, songwriter Tommy Jones was really writing about the crystal blue lake referenced in the Book of Revelations.

Goof: Todd's uncle refers to the 10 prison murders as being more difficult than the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. This episode takes place in 2010 based on the continuity of the storyline and Osama bin Laden was killed in May 2011. Vince Gilligan admitted this was a mistake.

The entire crew wore black armbands for Jonathan Banks' last day. Banks let's the viewers know in the "Insider" video that it's been an absolute pleasure being on the show and says that the last day was particularly difficult for him.

There are actually specific areas of track called "dark territories" where the trains lose all signal contact and could potentially be in danger of attack. The original title for this episode was Dark Territories, but it was changed to Dead Freight because it is a train term describing an empty freight car, which you usually have to pay to ship anyways. One of the boxcars was visibly empty because the crew could not get the rusted door cover to close on the train.

The train engine, built in the 1950s, broke down on the first day of shooting and set back production. In addition, the production crew ordered 12 boxcars to use and they were expensive to rent. When they came in from Texas, they were covered in graffiti. At first, they thought it would be too much to paint over, but then they couldn't get clearance (from the artists!) to leave the graffiti as is, so they ended up painting over it.

Original ideas for the train heist involved a helicopter flying over to the depot where the train car was held to suck out the methylamine midair. They didn't think the train idea was going to work for budgetary reasons, however, the estimates for robbing the methylamine out of a truck was almost just as expensive.

The watch that Jesse gives Walt is the Tag Heuer Monaco, the same one that Steve McQueen wore in the movie "LeMans" (1977). Steve McQueen was later diagnosed with an inoperable form of lung cancer. walt also has lung cancer.

The scene in the bedroom near the end of the episode was originally planned with Skyler staying stationary on the bed. However, Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, and Rian Johnson decided to convey Walt's "cornering" of Skyler a bit more by having Anna move around the bedroom with Bryan slowly closing in on her after each move. Vince Gilligan was greatly impressed with this "blocking" technique.

During the smoking scene and serious talk with Walt, Anna Gunn was hiding her nausea from the herbal cigarettes. She used to be a smoker, but had to take Gravol and cough drops in order to keep the scene going. Rian Johnson, the director, avoided filming her face because of Gunn's difficult time during that scene.

Chrysler paid for the product placement, this time. But Michelle MacLaren mentions on the podcast that she told Rian Johnson (the director) to at least show off these cars a bit. Michelle says Rian hit it out of the park by doing the low-level trolley camera play between the two cars with the engines roaring.

Walt finds Leaves of Grass, Walt Whitman's book of poetry in a box as he moves back in to the house at the beginning of the episode.

Both Matt L. Jones (Badger) and Charles Baker (Skinny Pete) can play instruments in real life.

When Saul is showing the box factory, the trio talk about a corrugater machine. But Adam Bernstein, the director, notes on the podcast that this wasn't the real corrugater because it was out of place for shooting, but similar. Interestingly, Vince says he also worked in a cardboard box factory for a couple of days. The tortilla factory was not originally in the script, they found the location as they were scouting and Aaron added the part where he grabs the tortilla at the end. The crew had to buy out the factory during the shoot because of the cleanliness restrictions.

In the episode podcast, the team says that new hazardous materials suits were used in this episode because the Tyvek ones from the previous season were noisy and very hot. This was the result of the new costume department manager. According to Vince, they were still really hot but they shot all of the teaser images with them.

The Madrigal "set" was really a newly built high school that had not yet opened. Michelle MacLaren chose the place based on it's never-been-used kitchen and the hallway where the companies brands could be placed. In the hallway shot, there is a place called BurgerMatic which is the same name of the restaurant in Vince Gillian's first movie "Home Fries".

The set location for Lydia's house was owned by an architect. Michelle MacLaren explained that they originally wanted to find a trendy high-rise apartment but it was difficult getting the shots and pertaining that the house was actually set in Houston. Vince also decided against using a legend to indicate the change of location, but they had never used legends before. Vince stated that viewers initially might not realize the Houston location but it would eventually come together in latter episodes.

The last scene, described as creepy by viewers, was actually a part of a longer sequence. It was cut down due to runtime, but Walt and Skyler go to bed and Walt starts trying to initiate sex with Skyler but Skyler is further mortified and does not want to participate so she pleasures him in another way.
