A violent schizophrenic with the skills of an outdoor survivalist and a history of ritualistic killing is off his meds and on the hunt. His prey, Debbie Myers, is a beautiful, young television host. After killing an orderly, he escapes and the one thing on his mind is finding Debbie, taking her to a special place in the Adirondack Mountains and consummating their "love" through a bizarre and violent ceremony which will surely end up with Debbie being killed.

"Off the Beaten Path" was another solid episode of Breakout Kings, but right now I do not know if the show has a good chance at another season. Its ratings continue to trend downward and that is because none of these installments really stand out. This criminal was a little different from the norm as he escaped a mental institution, not a prison, and I liked his aggressive slashing strike to the head to kill his problems, but the plot as a whole was still essentially the same. They need at least one episode that is a little bit different, maybe a hostage crisis at their center or something. The show is still fun, but when nothing stands out like in tonight's show how do you expect to keep people watching every single week?moreless
