EDIT
Sebastian Against the World
AIRED:
Sebastian has clearly become an alcoholic, and his drinking, his depression about the state of his family and his bad behaviour are becoming more and more of a problem. His relationships are falling apart, and then he is sent down (expelled) from Oxford. After an unhappy Easter at Brideshead, Sebastian departs for a tour of the monasteries of the Near East, with Samgrass as a tutor, leaving Charles dismayed. Charles decides that he, too, will finish with the University, pursuing a career as a painter. His father agrees to this, on the condition that he also goes overseas, so Charles enrols in an art school in Paris. There, he loses contact with Sebastian, but he still hears from Lady Marchmain, who wants him as an ally against Sebastian's decline.moreless
