British Academy of Film and Television Awards

Show Summary

This annual awards ceremony, commonly referred to as the Baftas, celebrates the best of film and television with a special focus on British talent. The ceremony is often cited as Britain's equivalent to the Oscars. The BAFTAS were first awarded in 1947. The statue depicts a theatrical mask which was designed by American sculptor Mitzi Cunliffe and was commissioned by the Guild of Television Producers in 1955.
