1.Bromwell is funny because it is an off the wall exaggeration of public
schools. By exaggerating it, we can laugh at its absurdity.
Exaggeration is one of the oldest forms of comedy, and it can be traced
through time, through Commedia del'Arte in Medieval Italy, through
Roman political pieces, and through Greek festivals.

2. Some lines are a bit more clever than people give them credit for. an example "I'm retiring because I won the lottery!" "How much did you win?" "180 pounds." "Well that won't last long" " I said I'm retiring. You can't stop me. No-one can stop me!"

3. Most "clean" jokes, as people call them, were done long, long ago. They could either be original and funny, or be "clean".

i love bromwell high.. but you are insulting it if those are the only reasons you can think of which make it funny.

Having only recently left school, it has a surprising resemblence to British secondary schools - heavily underfunded, teachers who walk around the staff room repeating "i hate school, i hate school", and of course, the lovable (im guessing) cypriot headmaster who sells playgrounds to be used to build tower blocks.

i love bromwell high too. i find it funny because its just how some schools in london but a little stereo typical

I also love bromwell high, it kicks ass, its so funny . I hope they make more seasons thought cuz they only got one season

This show is totally underrated. Glad to see theres other people who like it as much as I do.
