Intended to be seen in October, 1992 to coincide with the World Series. Ironically, the World Series prevented it from airing then.
Title: "No Time Like the Future" The title is a play on the expression "No time like the present," which suggests not procrastinating on important matters. The characters decide the present is the time to confess their secrets, as there may be no future. Also, Sputnik and its relationship to space and space travel made many people feel the world had entered a futuristic age.
The October, 1957, launch of Sputnik sparked the famous "Space Race," in which the United States and its people panicked about their country falling behind the Russians in technology. Investment in education for math, science, and languages went through a boom period culminating in the U.S. being the first nation to land a human on the moon.
