      • Chairman Rosenkroitz: Do you know how I've stayed alive like this Mason? The answer is machines. There is nothing that a body can do that a machine can not do better. Provided that the machine is not restricted by a lack of energy. Do you know what that means Mason?

      • Leon: Funny sounds are one thing, but I don't like the implications of Leon the Peon!

      • Nene: But I guess I'll do it because I like you, Leon-Peon.
Leon: Hey, wait. Did you just call me Leon the Peon?

      • Linna: I keep wondering if I'm going to screw everything up.
Masaki: Or even worse, find out if the thing you wanted isn't there anymore.

      • Leon: I thought Leon-Noodle was bad, but this is just too much!
        Daley: I'm leaving now…
Leon: Hey, wait! I need your support here!

      • Yamazaki Woman: I heard you're a career woman in Tokyo now.
Yamazaki Man #1: So, have you found a boyfriend yet?
Yamazaki Man #2: Haha, God knows she didn't have one here!
        (Everyone laughs.)
Linna: (quietly to herself) I'll take boomers over my relatives any day.

      • Linna's Dad: Well, don't just stand there like a knot on a log, girl. Make a proper greeting to our guests.

      • Linna's Mom: I know you always used to say that you didn't know what it was you were looking for, but that you would know what it was when you finally found it.
        Linna: And I did.
        Linna's Mom: Huh?
Linna: I've found something. But now that I've found it, I think I'm afraid of making a commitment to it.
Linna's Mom: Commitment is a scary thing.
        Linna: Yes, it is.

      • Mason: The creators of this tower of Babel have laboured on, but they are missing one key bit of information. They believe that the worship of soulless golems is their path to becoming a living god.

      • Mason: But you don't understand.
        Boomer: No, I don't.
Mason: How could you? You're a golem, an empty shell. For so long I believed that Rosencroitz was both the biggest obstacle in my path, and my greatest potential ally. But perhaps I was wrong.

      • Linna: I've got more things to do with my life than marry some farm boy and start pumping out grandchildren on command.

      • Masaki: On the other hand, I understand you went to Tokyo to get away from your family, didn't you?
Linna: Well, kinda sorta I guess.
Masaki: Was it really so bad here?
Linna: Bad? Well yeah, it was like teenage hell. In twenty years, I never once lived up to anyone's expectations. The original round peg in a square hole, that's me.

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • In the street before the boomer throws someone out of a window, the sign of one of the bars reads 'Ten Forward'. This was the name of the bar on board the USS Enterprise-D from the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation.

      • The title of this episode, Sheer Heart Attack, is a reference to a song of the same name sung by Queen.
