Episode Summary

Home, Swampy, Home
Bucky, searching for his mentor on Warren, is captured by the toads and is sent as a prisoner to Komplex on the Toad Homeworld. However with the help of his crew, he manages to escape. In disguise as an old hare named "Angus McJump," Bucky allows himself to be captured by the toads a second time, and this time is taken to the prison planet Kinnear where the Toad Air Marshall is building a second climate converter using captive mammals (mostly hares, including Bucky's own aunt) as slave labor. Together with a fox named Mimi LaFloo, Bucky plans to undermine the Air Marshall.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • This episode's ending is extremely jarring, continuity-wise. It ends with the apparent deaths of the Air Marshall and Frix in an explosive Double Bubble crash, and yet they are both back in the next episode, alive and well, with no explanation offered for their survival. Similarly, earlier when the toads are fleeing the control room, Frax doesn't make it out before the doors close, leaving him trapped inside with the rest of the toads and, apparently, a captive of the mammals who liberate Kinnear and occupy the factory. No explanation is offered for his freedom in the next episode.

      • From this episode onward, Frix and Frax speak with completely different voices than in the first three episodes.

      • Bucky's love life is explored in this episode during the scene where Jenny appears jealous of Mimi's flirting.

    • QUOTES (13)

      • Mimi: I thought I told you to stay below.
Bucky: (Sheds his disguise) Sorry, foxy lady, I'm not used to taking orders.

      • (Bucky is aiming a maser rifle at the Air Marshall, Frix, Frax and several Toad Techs)
Bucky: Well, if isn't my old friend, the Air Marshall. Pardon me for dropping in unannounced. I've got a factory to shut down.
Toad Air Marshall: (runs for the exit) You-- you dirty rat!
        Bucky: Hare!

      • Bucky / Angus: (pretending to be elderly) I'll fight! I'll show those toads a thing or two!
Mimi: That's--that's good of your, sir, but I'm afraid we need the stronger, younger folks.
Bucky / Angus: I'll have you know I'm not a day older than 93!

      • Frix: Maybe other species simply aren't ready for our superior cultural standards.

      • (Mimi, Larry and Bob are hooked up to a torture machine)
Frix: They sound like they're suffering.
Frax: All we're doing is inputting Toad TV directly into their brains, ears and eyes.

      • Mimi: If we fail, more worlds will fall to the toad scourge!
Bob: If only Bucky O'Hare were here, he'd--
Mimi: (stomps her foot angrily) Bucky O'Hare, Bucky O'Hare! If I hear the name Bucky O'Hare one more time I'll scream!

      • Bucky / Angus: (upon first seeing Mimi) Talk about a fox...

      • Bucky "It's easier to take a fortress from the inside by stealth than from the outside by force."
Blinky: But how can we get inside fortress?
Bucky: We can't. But old Angus McJump can.
        Jenny, Willy and Blinky: Who...?

      • Toad Air Marshall: Bucky O'Hare at last! Oh, how he will suffer at my hands! I'll find the deepest, darkest pit and... and... throw you in it!
Bucky: Gee, thanks. I need a vacation.

      • Mimi: (about the Air Marshall's no-laziness policy) "Laziness?" They work us until we can hardly move, while they watch Toad TV!
Larry: Not for much longer. Bucky O'Hare will save us.
Mimi: Not this Bucky O'Hare character again! That's all you hares talk about!

      • Bucky: Get your slimey mitts off me! I'm not slaving for the likes of you wartbags!
Captain Smada: Oooo! Does the big bad captain think he's too good to join the slave pens with his brothers? Well, we'll see about that.

      • (Bucky, disguised as Angus McJump, is captured)
Bucky / Angus: Oh, please! Don't send old Angus McJump to the slave factory! Anything but that!
Storm Toad #4: Anything but that? Well, then that's where we'll send ya!

      • Storm Toad #1: That fleabag of a furbag!
Bucky: "Fleabag of a furbag?" Now they've gone and made me mad.

    • NOTES (4)

      • Two scenes were written in the script but not animated. The first shows Komplex ordering the Air Marshall to go to Kinnear and supervise the construction of the second climate converter, while Toadborg, damaged from the explosion that literally blew him into orbit at the end of the previous episode, is shown being repaired. The second scene is an alternate version of Bucky's confrontation with the Stormtoads on Warren. In the completed episode, Bucky fights them alone, but in the script he is assisted by several guerrilla hares who were sent by his mentor.

      • When we fist see the Screaming Mimi it is grey and not the standard orange colour of the Righteous Indignation and the Indefatigable as it was in the original Continuity Comic. In later episodes it would be orange.

      • Even though Mimi did not appear in the original Continuity Comics her ship the Screaming Mimi did.

      • First appearance of Mimi LaFloo and her ship the Screaming Mimi.
