Buddha Of Suburbia is a British television series that first aired in 1994. Written by Hanif Kureishi and based on his award-winning 1990 novel, this four-part drama serial tells the story of Karim Amir (Naveen Andrews). Karim is of mixed race; he has an Indian father and an English mother. As he attempts to make it as a struggling actor, Karim finds himself fighting against the racism and intolerance that exist in modern-day British society. The series features songs written and performed by David Bowie.
