  • Sarah Michelle Gellar

    Buffy Anne Summers

    9.5

Sarah began her acting career at age 4 when she was discovered by an agent while eating in a local restaurant. Three weeks later she was on the set of her first film, An Invasion of Privacy. This chance discovery was to lead to a professional career which has lasted 24 of her 28 years of life. In addition to having been one of the two regular hostesses of the TV talk show, "Girl Talk," Sarah is a veteran of TV, film, and stage. She has appeared with Matthew Broderick and Eric Stoltz in "The Widow Claire" at the Circle in the Square theater, and had a feature film open in which she co-starred with Sally Kirkland and Robert Lupone. She has appeared on Spenser: For Hire, Love, Sidney, The David Letterman Show and The Regis Philbin Show. She has done over 100 commercials and is a Wilhelmina Model. She has also appeared in Crossbow which she filmed in France and Switzerland. Sarah played Molly in the original cast of Neil Simon's Jake's Women and young Jacqueline Bouvier in the award winning NBC mini-series A Woman Named Jackie. Sarah started to gain a small, but loyal, fanbase when she played the lead role of Sydney Rutledge in the teen soap opera, Swan's Crossing.

On February 24th 1993, Sarah Michelle began work on the set of All My Children. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1994 and, although she lost, she was nominated again in 1995 and won in the Younger Leading Actress category. Although she had given the producers 6 months notice of her decision to leave the show, she made her decision public the day after the Emmy win. After 2 years, Sarah left the set of AMC and moved to California to seek new fame in films or TV.

In 1996, Sarah was picked as the lead of a new series called Buffy the Vampire Slayer based on the movie by the same name. Warner Brothers bought 13 episodes of the show, and although ratings of the pilot were the highest ever of any of the WB lineup, it ranked 100th out of 107 programs in the Nielson ratings. Warner Brothers renewed the show for another 22 episodes which began airing September 15th, 1997.

In June of 1997, Sarah finished shooting I Know What You Did Last Summer which stars her and Jennifer Love Hewitt as teens who try to cover up a hit and run. It was released on October 17th and became number one that weekend, earning a profit in just two days. Shortly after filming IKWYDLS, Sarah flew down to Atlanta, GA to film Scream 2, which had the largest December opening of a film and made more money in it's first weekend than the other top 9 films combined.

Sarah next took a break from the horror genre to film Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible and Harvard Man.

On March 10, 1998, Sarah won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award in the Best Supporting Actress - Horror category for her role in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

On August 12th, 1999, Sarah signed a contract with Maybelline to become the first celebrity spokeswoman since Lynda Carter in the late 70's, and can be seen in television and print advertising for the makeup company.

The new millennium has been very favorable to Sarah so far. In 2000, she won a few awards given out by the Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Movie awards.

2001 proved to be a great year for her personal and professional lives. First, she earned a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series - Drama category in the Golden Globe Awards. Then she became engaged to Freddie Prinze Jr. on her birthday in April. The Teen Choice Awards also honored Sarah that summer with an Extraordinary Achievement Award.

In 2002, Scooby Doo, the movie Sarah co-starred in with Freddie, Matt Lillard and Linda Cardellini, became a summer blockbuster earning a whopping $250 million worldwide. In June she co-hosted the MTV Movie Awards, which became the highest rated in the show's history. This year also marked the most memorable occasion in her personal life. On September 1, 2002, Sarah and Freddie exchanged their marriage vows in a private ceremony in Mexico. In October, Sarah was honored with a Woman of The Year Award by Glamour Magazine during their Annual Women of The Year Awards.

In 2003, after 7 successful seasons of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Sarah Michelle Gellar called it quits. She then focused on several projects, including Scooby Doo 2 and The Grudge, both of which were released in 2004. Sarah has decided to move on to movies but still looks back fondly on her years on Buffy. She had hoped to guest star on the spin-off Angel when her schedule cleared up, but the cancellation of that show in 2004 prevented it.

Sarah also enjoys rollerblading, ice skating, water skiing, and occasionally goes cliff diving. She was a competitive figure skater for 3 years and was ranked 3rd in the New York Sate regional competition. She has taken 5 years of Tae Kwon Do and is active in physical fitness. Sarah is an only child and considers herself a workaholic. She attended high school at Professional Children's School in New York and graduated two years early with a 4.0.

In 2011, Sarah returned to television on the CW series, Ringer. Sarah is not only serving as the main lead for the series, but is also one of three executive producers on the show.

    Alexander 'Xander' Harris

    9.1
Nicholas Brendon is best known for his stint as Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is currently starring on FOX's Kitchen Confidential. He turned to acting when his aspirations of playing professional baseball were squelched by a serious arm injury. He first appeared on television in a handful of commercials and guest-starring roles including Marriedwith Children and Dave's World. Feeling slightly disenchanted with Hollywood, he took a personal hiatus to play the "real-life" roles of medical student, production assistant, plumber's assistant, veterinary janitor, food delivery guy, script delivery guy, day care counselor and waiter (at approximately 13 different establishments). During his seventh year in the food and beverage industry, Brendon decided to give acting another try. Soon after, he landed the role of Xander and hung up his apron for good - he hopes. His feature film credits include Psycho Beach Party and the horror film Pinata (aka Demon Island), in which he co-stars with wife Tressa DiFiglia. (She also appeared in Amber Benson's film Chance.) Nick has also starred in Los Angeles theater productions of The Further Adventures of Tom Sawyer at Theater West, My Own Private Hollywood at the Black Hole Theater, and Out of Gas on Lover's Leap at the Pasadena Playhouse. • Seth Green

    Daniel 'Oz' Osbourne

    9.3
Seth was born to Herbert, a mathematics teacher, and Barbara, an artist in Philadelphia, PA. The couple already had a daughter, Kaela also an actress. Seth and Kaela were raised in Overbrook Park, PA. It is said that a photograph of him being born was used in an ad campaign for natural childbirth, but Seth's mother has denied this rumor. Seth attended public school and played soccer. He decided to make acting his career at age six when he took part in a workshop in his hometown and after appearing in a summer camp performance of "Hello, Dolly!" Seth actually got his start in commercials as a child including a John Denver Album, Fruit Loops, Carl's Jr., Rally's (the origination of the catchphrase "Cha-Ching!" which still follows Seth around to this day), Wendy's, Jello Pudding Pops, Kodak, Hewlett Packard Printer, California Department of Health Services on Smoking and most recently the US Sci-Fi Channel. One of his commercials was with Sarah Michelle Gellar, when she was four years old.

He went on to appear in such illustrious telly as The X-Files, The Wonder Years, Beverly Hills 90210, Evening Shade, seaQuest DSV (as Wolfman, maybe a sign of things to come?) before his extended exposure on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer as Oz.

He has appeared in many movies including: Hotel New Hampshire, Radio Days (as a young Woody Allen), My Stepmother Is An Alien (as Alyson Hannigan's boyfriend, another omen?), Pump Up The Volume (with Juliet Landau also of Buffy fame), the 1992 movie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (his scenes were cut), Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, Stonebrook, Idle Hands, Enemy Of The State, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Can't Hardly Wait.

Interestingly, Seth had a part in the movie version of Buffy - unfortunately, his part ended up on the cutting room floor, though a still photo of him (as a vampire) is on the back of the box of the US video release.

He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1991.

Though Seth has a very large list of credits, he didn't gain notoriety until Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Austin Powers came along.

Now he has less anonymity and a lot of fans to attest to it, from two distinctly separate groups eleven to seventeen-year-old girls and drug-dealers.

While his involvement with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie only goes back as far as the cutting room floor of 1992 he is apparently on the cover of the US video release.

In 1997 his return to the realm of Buffy came, it was not as grand as it would become: his contract was only for three episodes in Season Two (namely 'Inca Mummy Girl', 'Halloween' and 'What's My Line, Part One') as Oz, the first person to show an interest in Willow [Alyson Hannigan], but fairly early on it became apparent to Buffy creator Joss Whedon that Seth and Alyson got on well enough to make more of Oz and so he increased Oz's relevance to the story of 'What's My Line' and put him in Part Two (taking a bullet for Willow). Whedon wanted to give the characters besides Buffy [Sarah Michelle Gellar] more of a private life and Willow's love life had really only been explored with Xander [Nicholas Brendon]. Whedon wanted the audience to hate Oz for driving Willow and Xander apart and then love him. He wrote Oz into the big two part story of season two: 'Surprise' and 'Innocence' and gave him a scene with Willow where he tells her how he feels about her and it worked, Oz fans appeared all over. Oz was officially admitted into the Scooby Gang when he saw Buffy slay a vampire at The Bronze, helped steal a rocket launcher from the army and pick up immolated parts of a dead invincible demon. Not bad for a day's work.

Joss Whedon gave a copy of the next episode's script to Seth as a way to convince him to become a regular for the next season. It worked and Oz became the werewolf in 'Phases'. In 'Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered' he searched for Buffy after Amy [Elizabeth Anne Allen] turned her into a rat. In 'Passion' someone had to die and it was going to be Oz, but his signing up for the third season fortunately scuppered that and the unlucky honour fell to Jenny Calendar [Robia La Morte]. After his rodent recovery duties in 'Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered' he next appeared in the both parts of the two part Season Two finale 'Becoming, Part Two'. In the latter part of that Willow is in a coma and Xander, sitting at her bedside tells her he loves her, she wakes up and the first thing she says is "Oz?".

He made Entertainment Weekly's '1998 It List,' the magazine's annual pick of the hottest stars.

Oz naturally returned in Season Three in 'Anne' with a promotion to series regular and as part of the Buffy-absent slaying. In 'Dead Man's Party' and 'Faith, Hope & Trick' he is an integral part of the Scooby Gang. The next episode 'Beauty And The Beasts' starts as an Oz feature episode, but becomes a reminder of who Angel [David Boreanaz] is. For the remainder of the season Oz fulfils two roles: Willow's boyfriend and 'boy-in-a-band'. This is primarily due to the sheer amount of screen time devoted to new slayer Faith [Eliza Dushku]. That said he is still great in every scene in which he appears, highlights include 'Band Candy', 'Lover's Walk', 'The Wish', 'Amends', 'The Zeppo', 'Dopplegangland', 'Choices' and 'Earshot'. He becomes increasing under-utilized as the season progresses until 'Graduation Day, Part One and Two' where he has some of his best scenes all year.

Having decided to leave Buffy for a further career in movies Seth handed in his noticed and agreed to appear in the beginning of Season Four. In 'The Freshman' the gang (minus Angel and Cordelia [Charisma Carpenter], who have left for LA and their' own show: Angel) relocate to UC Sunnydale. In 'Living Conditions' Oz spots Veruca [Paige Moss] on campus and is strangely attracted to her (all in a split second). 'The Harsh Light of Day' and it's Angel crossover 'In The Dark' gave Oz double duties as he took the Gem of Amarra retrieved from Spike [James Marsters] and gave it to Angel and then helped Cordelia & Doyle [Glenn Quinn] save the day. In 'Fear, Itself' the gang get to feel the worst fears coming true two of which: Oz losing control of the wolf within and Willow losing Oz would come true two episodes later. Oz is almost infatuated with Veruca all through 'Beer Bad' and discovers that she is a werewolf like him in 'Wild At Heart' and they attack Prof. Walsh [Lindsay Crouse]have sex in wolf form. Realising he has no control over his wolf side he flees Sunnydale and Willow.

When he left to make the thriller 'Knockaround Guys' (with John Malkovich and Barry Pepper) it was not known if he was going to return. It was expected that he would and in a regular role, those with expectations were half right: he did return in 'New Moon Rising' but only as a guest star. Oz claims to have found a cure for his condition and doesn't change on the night of a full moon and he and Willow seem likely to be back together until Willow tells Buffy that she and Tara [Amber Benson] are involved. Oz meets Tara and is enraged and transforms into wolf form warning her to "Run". He is caught by The Initiative and almost killed by Riley [Marc Blucas] because he mistakenly thought Oz was the demon that attacked co - soldier Graham [Bailey Chase]. When Riley realises that it is Oz he attempts to help him escape risking a court martial at the hands of Col. McNamara [Conor O'Farrell] and held in the brig. Willow, Buffy, Xander and Spike attempt to break both of them out with the help of Giles, Anya [Emma Caulfield] and albeit unwittingly Adam [George Hertzberg]. Oz suspects that it is Willow that brings out the wolf in him and leaves again, Willow professes her love to Tara.

He also appears in the season finale, 'Restless' in Willow's dream as a metaphor for her life with him being different to her life with Tara. Only time will tell whether he will return to Buffy or in fact Angel. The rumours say yes, but then they always do. Don't they?

As for the future, Seth is apparently not interested in directing, but he would like to produce, as well as keep acting. He and his best friends Breckin Meyer and Ryan Phillippe have an office where they peruse scripts, and they are aiming to produce films together.

Next on the horizon the dark comedy Scorned. The film, which is based on an idea from Seth and his childhood-friend-turned-screenwriter Hugh Sterbakov, centres on a young engaged couple whose romance takes an ugly turn when they head to college; the affair becomes a grudge match, and the pair's dorm turns into a war zone.moreless

  • Eliza Dushku

    Faith

    9.4
Eliza Dushku was born in Watertown, Massachusetts, to an Albanian father and Danish mother, and raised in the LDS Church, the faith of her mother (though she is not actively practicing). She has three brothers, Aaron, Ben, and Nate, the latter of whom is also an actor. Eliza lives in the Los Angeles area with Nate, the oldest of her three brothers, whom she calls her "partner in crime." Eliza came to the attention of casting agents when she was 10. Along with her brother, she went to a commercial audition where she tripped on the stairs, got a blood nose, and became an instant drama queen. At 12, she was chosen at the end of a five month search throughout the United States for the lead role of Alice, opposite Juliette Lewis in the film That Night. In 1993, Eliza landed a role as Pearl alongside Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in This Boy's Life, a role that she said opened a lot of doors. Eliza says that Dicaprio taught her how to deal with bullies and other high school dangers, for which she is grateful. The following year, she played the teenage daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies. She also had parts as Paul Reiser's daughter in Bye Bye, Love, as Cindy Johnson with Halle Berry and Jim Belushi in Race the Sun, as well as roles in a television movie and a short film. Eliza took some time off from acting to finish her junior and senior years of high school. She was accepted to the George Washington and Suffolk Universities in Boston. After completing high school, Eliza returned to acting with the role of Faith, a Slayer much more troubled than the main character Buffy. Though initially planned as a five episode role, the character became so popular that she stayed on for the entirety of the third season. She has also made guest appearances in Buffy's spin-off, Angel. Because of her convincing role as a sociopath, she became an icon to many criminals. She was inundated with piles of fan mail from legions of prisoners. In 2000, she starred with Kirsten Dunst in the cheerleader comedy Bring It On, which was a surprising success at the box office that spawned a sequel. Kevin Smith invited her to be a part of his final adventure for his two characters, Jay and Silent Bob, in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, where Eliza co-starred with Shannon Elizabeth, Ali Larter, Ben Affleck, and others. After this, Eliza starred in Soul Survivors, opposite Ben Affleck's brother Casey, followed by a role in The New Guy. Eliza then returned to work with Robert De Niro and director Michael Caton-Jones in City by the Sea, playing James Franco's junkie girlfriend and mother of his child. The film garnered attention from a wider adult audience and several good reviews. 2003 saw the release of Wrong Turn, a horror film in which Eliza had the starring role, and The Kiss, an independent comedy-drama. Starting that same year, she also starred in a new Fox TV series, Tru Calling, where she played the main character, Tru Davies. On October 1, 2005, she announced at Wizard World Boston that shooting had begun for Nobel Son (to be released in 2006), in which she will star with Alan Rickman, Danny DeVito, Bill Pullman, and Peter Boyle. Eliza also announced that she would appear in a Broadway production entitled "Dog Sees God" in December of 2005.moreless

She then moved to the small screen playing the daughter of Detective Jack Reed in a series of made-for-TV movies called, "Jack Reed: Badge of Honor" , "Jack Reed: A Search for Justice", and "Jack Reed: One of Our Own." 8.7
Elizabeth Anne Allen was born and raised in New York. Elizabeth moved to Hollywood after graduating from Russell Sage College (NY) to persue a career in acting. After a few odd appearances Elizabeth got her first reoccuring role on 'Bull', it was after this that she landed the role she is most well known for as 'Amy' on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Like co-stars on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Julie Benz (Darla) and Merceded McNab (Harmony), Elizabeth tried out for the leading role. None of them got the part as it went to Sarah Michelle Gellar however Joss Whedon was so impressed with all of them that he created great roles elsewhere in the show for them. Elizabeth got the role of 'Amy', a magickally inclined classmate of Buffy's. Her character only appeared in one episode each season upto season 5, however she got people talking in Season 6 when she returned for a few key episodes. Unfortunetly Elizabeth's character was manipulative and somewhat evil and her return was short lived. Many fans complained when Elizabeth wasn't written into any episodes beyond the second half of the season. However, now that she has finished filming for Buffy she has found new work on the show 'Green Sails' which has again boosted her popularity.moreless

  • Armin Shimerman

    Principal Snyder

    9.1
Born of immigrant parents and raised in a small farming town in New Jersey, Shimerman's family moved to Los Angeles when he was 16 years old. In an effort to help her son meet new people, his mother enrolled him in a drama group and (as the saying goes) the rest is history. Upon graduation from the University of California at Los Angeles, he was chosen as one of eight apprentices out of 900 for the prestigious Old Globe Theater in San Diego. Shimerman appeared prominently in many regional theater productions for the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum, the American Shakespeare Festival, the New York Shakespeare Festival, and the Indiana Repertory Theater. Following a move to New York, he landed roles in the Broadway production of Richard Rodger's last musical, "I Remember Mama," "Broadway" with Chris Sarandon and Teri Garr, "St. Joan" with Lynn Redgrave and Joe Papp's production of "Three Penny Opera" with Raul Julia. Shimerman then returned to his adopted hometown of Los Angeles and his success continued as he appeared in recurring roles in two CBS series. He portrayed Pascal in Beauty & The Beast, and Cousin Bernard in Brooklyn Bridge. He has also guest starred over 65 times on such television series as L.A. Law, Married: With Children, Civil Wars and Seinfeld. Perhaps the most memorable of Shimerman's guest appearances was in Star Trek: The Next Generation when he made his debut as the uncredited Wedding Box in the first season episode entitled "Haven." Later that season, Armin returned to the set of Star Trek: The Next Generation where he portrayed Letek, the first Ferengi in a Star Trek series, in the episode "The Last Outpost." During the third season hiatus of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Shimerman worked on the film "An Eye for an Eye" with Sally Field and Ed Harris. He has also co-starred with Andrew McCarthy, Patsy Kensit and Star Trek: The Next Generation alumna Denise Crosby in the feature film "Dream Man," in which he portrays District Attorney Van Horne. Teaching his unique Shakespearean acting approach to students throughout Los Angeles keeps Shimerman busy in his spare time. He has taught at the High School of the Performing Arts, the Theatricum Botanicum, the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre, the College of Idaho and several workshop companies, as well as his alma mater, UCLA. He has also spent time as a scribe, writing "The Merchant Prince," as well as two Star Trek novels, "Wheels within Wheels" and "The 34th Rule." Shimerman is active as a National Board Member of the Screen Actors Guild.moreless
