Alright, here we go. I honestly can say I hate Twilight, I think it messes with a lot of vampire lore, and also it copies Buffy in some ways. But I was wondering what do you think is better Buffy or Twilight?

My vote is with Buffy all the way.

i'm not sure the vampires in twilight can even be classified as such. vampires are demons, they are evil, they are killers, they are an evil domic thing. the "vampires" in twilight are exalted beings, above us, unkillable, devastatingly beautiful, without fault. twilight is not a vampire story, it is a fantasy love story, i may even be a good fantasy love story, but it will never be a vampire story. and it never should be.

that being said... rob pattinson is so hot.

oh and the idea that a new vampire is stronger then older ones is just ridonkulus.

buffy and angel are way more epic then bella and edward, but you have to admit b and e achieved something bangel never did... a happy ending. and isn't that supposed to be what love is all about??? or somes@%t.conqures all and don't give up, even if you have to kill your girlfriend. yeah buffy is deffinantly better. oh and let's not forget the acting!!!!! sarah michelle gellar, anyone?yeah.

the dircting for the second movie was so bad. twas crap, twasn't it? how s@iiiit did the edward opening car park walk out scene want to be? pretty fickin. there was a total conflict between the acting/themes and the directing. they were directing a teen movie from the late ninties when they should have been directing an angsty indy film.

i didn't mind the sparkling, i just think they should have caught fire and burnt to death while doing it. THAT would look cool. like fire works!!

I have read the Twilight series, since I know a few people who enjoy it.

There were parts that were just drudgery to get through from an interest/writing standpoint, but even more than that it disturbs me on a fundamental level. Different vampire lore and mythology I can deal with; what I can't deal with is the subtle message that women (well, specifically in this case, largely pre-teen/teenage girls) should be attracted to men like Edward, who is subtly controlling, manipulative and kind of a stalker who puts Bella on a pedestal rather than treating her like a person. Also, their entire relationship is portrayed as ideal, even though it strikes me as pretty dysfunctional. That degree of co-dependency and lack of self-definition... just doesn't seem ideal to me.

I might come back and elaborate on this at some point, but I don't have the time right now.

I agree with a lot of what you say. Buffy VS Twilight having read the books and painstakingly watched the movies (without falling asleep) I have to say Buffy stands the test of time. Too much of Stephanie Meyer's Mormon background permeates the plot for me. Remaining chaste till marriage, first sexual experience creates life,Man must worship woman, man protector/woman damsel. Doesn't anyone else find it awful that Bella can't live without Edward for several months and that without him she's near comatose?

I know first love is hard to get over but I think they exaggerated the grieving process.

Buffy was a self assured heroic female who was fiercely loyal to all those around her.She was/is a role model for young girls/women, by being strong and doing the things that need to be done and being able to move on and get on with her life after Angel is a testament to her character.

One of my friends told me about a t-shirt she saw, which I thought was the greatest t-shirt ever. It was black, and on the front said, very simply, "And the Buffy staked Edward. The end." Awesome.

I blame things like Twilight giving Buffy a bad name--they get lumped together, and people are too stupid to realize that BtVS is superior to Twilight in every way. If someone can come up with one single way in which Twilight is legitimately better, I'll bow to them. But I doubt such a thing is physically possible.

I saw Twilight and I didn't like it, I was expecting vampire fangs, blood sucking and dusting of vampires (I didn't read the books), I preferred Buffy because it has all of what I mentioned and more.

oh my god those buffy and twilight pictures are hilarious!!!!!!!! I think im going to have to print them off and just show the whole world!!! I have to say i really like twilight, and vampire diaries, and true blood and probably alot of the other vampire stuff they got going on lol but if i had to choose out of buffy and twilight i dont know if i could, not because they are to similar or anything like that purely cos of the opposite, i dont think they are anything like each other, like someone stated, twilight is not really a vampire story its a fantasy love story about the kind of love all teenage girls dream about (i think all girls dream about falling in love lol)but buffy is all about drama and love and fighting and love and friendship and love and so many things that make it ... whats the word - oh yeah awesome!!! I think the point of the two stories is different aswell, i think buffy is supposed to be the role model and the one that makes mistakes but makes them right and sacrifices what she needs to and i think twilight is just supposed to show what the immensity of love can do to people ... anywho i love those pictures!!! And i want that t shirt (even though i love edward lol)
