Episode Recap

At the Bronze, Willow listens rapturously as Xander finally says the words she's been longing to hear. "We're good friends, and I think it's time to take the next step," Xander says. "Would you, um, date me?" Willow gazes up at him, a blissful smile on her face. But unfortunately for Willow, the words are not meant for her. Xander is practicing, working up the nerve to finally ask Buffy out on a date. And Xander, who is ordinarily blessed with the gift of gab, is having a terrible time finding the right words; each attempt is lamer than the last. Xander finally gives up and decides to just take the plunge. He looks around for Buffy but she's not there. He asks Willow what Buffy is doing instead of hanging at The Bronze. "Oh you know," Willow explains, "the usual."

In the cemetery, a blonde, cross-wearing girl falls in slow motion through the air, hitting the ground hard. A smirking vampire advances slowly, ready for his prey. She looks up and her face comes into view: it's the Slayer—but the vampire doesn't know it... yet.

Across the lot, a car is parked, the windows steamed from heavy breathing. Unaware of the danger that surrounds them, Cordelia is making out with Kevin, her latest boy toy. The sound of Buffy's fall startles her, and she breaks the kiss. She tells her date she heard something, but he dismisses it, anxious to get back to the kissing. Cordelia looks thoughtful but doesn't argue.

Buffy does a backwards somersault and leaps up, gracefully resuming her fighting stance. Still smirking, the vamp curls his hands, ready to pounce. As he prepares to spring, Buffy pulls a stake from her pants. The smile fades from the vampire's face, replaced by unadulterated fear.

The Slayer is an oasis of serene confidence as she stands waiting for the vampire's attack. Finally, she appears at peace with her calling and the power of it practically oozes off her. The vampire knows it too, but he attacks anyway. Suddenly, the moment is broken as Buffy flies into a flurry of kicks and punches. In seconds, the vampire is dust.

Meanwhile, Giles is translating the Pergamum Codex from its original Latin. The Codex contains ancient prophecies about the Slayer, and Giles has long desired to learn its secrets. When Giles finally locates the passage he's been searching for, the excitement drains from his face as he discovers his Slayer's fate. As he sits in horrified silence, his teacup begins to shake; at first just slightly but with growing force. Giles rushes for the relative safety of the doorway, as the massive earthquake erupts.

The next morning, Buffy surveys the damage in the library. She tells Giles about her evening's patrol but he is too distracted by what he read in the Codex to listen properly. But when Buffy tells him that she staked three vampires, his ears prick up. "Their numbers are increasing?" he asks, a worried crease lining his eyebrow. But seconds later, his concentration wanders again. Tired of fighting for his attention, Buffy starts to leave. "… I can't put it off any longer. I have to meet my terrible fate," she says glibly. A frantic, startled expression crosses Giles's face as he whirls to face her. "What?" he cries out. Buffy eyes him strangely. "Biology," she explains. The bell rings and she heads to class.

Later, Xander asks Buffy if he can talk to her alone. The two friends take a seat on the quad. Buffy waits expectantly while Xander trips over his words, rambling about the Spring Fling. Finally he gets the words out. "Buffy, I want you to go to the dance with me. You and me. On a date." Buffy gently tells him that she doesn't want to spoil their friendship and that she just doesn't think of him in that way. "Try," he urges. "I'll wait." But her answer is firm. Hurt and stung, Xander stands to leave. Rejection breeds anger, and Xander lashes out. "I guess a guy has gotta be undead to make time with you," he snipes. He immediately apologizes, explaining that he doesn't handle rejection well. "Funny considering all the practice I've had," he says ironically. Buffy tries to pacify him, but he walks away to deal with his hurt feelings privately. Buffy watches him leave, her face awash with sadness.

Meanwhile, Giles is on the phone, arranging to meet with someone after sundown. Ms. Calendar stands framed in the doorway, listening to his conversation. Giles tells her he is not up to socializing but Ms. Calendar won't be dismissed. She tells him that she knows something is up, because of all the strange happenings reported in the news. Boiling lakes, cats birthing snakes, a baby born with its eyes facing inward… "I'm not stupid," Ms. Calendar says. "This is apocalypse stuff." Ms. Calendar tells Giles that a monk from Cortona keeps emailing her about the Anointed One. That shocks Giles. "The Anointed One is dead!" he tells her, but uncertainty clouds his face. Giles tells her to speak to the monk and find out everything he knows. Ms. Calendar is annoyed. "Look Rupert, you haven't told me jack, so what's with the orders," she asks. "Just do it," Giles snaps, with uncharacteristic vehemence. In a slightly softer tone, he promises to tell her everything…later. "You better," she warns.

In the hallway, Cordelia walks with Kevin, making organizational plans for the dance. He promises to bring all the AV equipment to The Bronze. Cordelia spots Willow, and rushes right over to her, offering an insincere compliment. Willow sees right through her, and asks the May Queen what it is she needs. Cordelia asks her to help hook up the sound system at The Bronze, for the Spring Fling. Willow is distracted when she sees Xander in a deserted classroom, and absentmindedly agrees to help.

Willow walks into the classroom to find Xander bouncing a tennis ball off the chalkboard. She asks him how things went when he asked Buffy to the dance. "It sucked," he tells her bluntly. Willow moves closer toward him, genuinely sorry for his pain. Willow loves Xander so much that she wants him to be happy, even if that means finding it with another girl.
Xander finally stops throwing the tennis ball. As he stands to leave, an idea occurs to him. He asks Willow to be his date to the dance... but he asks it in a way that makes it clear it's a buddy date, not a romantic one. He's so sure she'll say yes, that he doesn't even hear her the first time she refuses. "You think I wanna go to the dance with you, and watch you wish you were with her? You think that's my idea of high jinks? You should know better." Xander stares at her in shock. Willow turns to go, leaving Xander alone and rejected twice in the same day; by both of his best friends.

It's evening, and Buffy is in the girls' locker room. She turns on the sink, and blood pours from the faucet. She rushes to tell Giles, and is both pleased and surprised to find him in his office, talking to Angel. She whispers Angel's name, and starts to head inside, but stops short when she hears their conversation. Neither Giles nor Angel is aware of her presence. Giles is agitatedly telling Angel the prophecy he uncovered in the Pergamum Codex. "Tomorrow night, Buffy will face The Master, and she will die."

The blood drains from Buffy's face and for a moment she is silent. But then, hysterical laughter bubbles out of her. Giles and Angel whirl, finally noticing their Slayer. But her laughter soon turns to tears. "Did it say how he's gonna kill me?" she asks, without a trace of mirth. "Think it'll hurt?" She looks at Giles with childlike vulnerability. And suddenly it's as if Buffy is just any other young girl, not the Slayer, not a superhero… just a young girl with her entire life ahead of her. And it's all about to be cruelly ripped away.

But Buffy isn't about to let it go that easily. She tells Giles that she quits. She's done. She won't be the Slayer any longer. Giles and Angel try to argue with her but Buffy is firm. "Giles, I'm sixteen years old," she says, her lips trembling. "I don't wanna die." She yanks the cross from her neck and throws it to the floor. And without another word or look, she leaves the library; Angel and Giles staring after her.

Willow is sitting at her desk studying. She looks up and sees a framed picture of Xander and herself. She sighs, picks up the phone, and dials.

Xander lies stretched out on his messy bed, listening to country music. The telephone rings. He picks it up, slams it back down, and then takes it off the hook.

Buffy sits on her bed, thumbing through a photo album. Her mom comes in the room and can tell something is bothering her daughter. An idea hits Buffy and she turns to her mother excitedly. She suggests they leave town, just for the weekend; a real mother-daughter bonding trip. She even suggests talking about all of the embarrassing stories her mother loves to bring up. But Joyce shoots the idea down, reminding her that she has to work and suggesting that Buffy should go to the Spring Fling. In typical, clueless parent fashion, Joyce believes that Buffy wants to leave town because she didn't get asked to the dance. "See, sometimes I actually do know what you're thinking," she says. Buffy just stares at her mother mournfully; unable to explain why leaving town is so essential. Joyce smiles at her and opens the closet door to reveal a gorgeous white sleeveless gown. "I saw you eyeing it at the store," she explains. She suggests Buffy wear it to the dance. Buffy tells her that the dance is out of the question, but Joyce is adamant that she should go... date or not.

Early the next morning, Cordelia and Willow walk through the deserted halls of Sunnydale High. Willow tells Cordelia that Kevin never showed up at The Bronze last night. Strangely, Cordelia isn't upset that he flaked on their plans. She finds it oddly cute. Through the door windows, they see Kevin and his friends in the Audio-Visual room watching cartoons. Cordelia psyches herself up to be annoyed, even though she secretly finds it adorable. "Obviously, Kevin has underestimated the power of my icy stare," she says unconvincingly. She throws open the door and Kevin's body falls out into the hall, the victim of a vampire. Cordelia screams and sinks to her knees, stroking Kevin's hair, and crying his name. Willow walks further into the room, to see that all of the kids in the AV room, her friends, have been slaughtered by vampires. On the television, two little pigs dance happily, juxtaposed against a violent, bloody handprint. Willow stares at the bloody scene in unmitigated horror. This wasn't just someone's dinner. This was a bloodbath.

Buffy is preparing for the dance in her room. Dressed in the beautiful white gown, her hair up with soft tendrils framing her face, the Slayer looks like a Goddess. She stares at herself in the mirror for a moment, enjoying the effect. Joyce rushes into the room to tell her that something bad has happened and Willow is involved.

Buffy sits with Willow, comforting her. Willow is stricken, tears staining her cheeks. She tells Buffy that she has seen some awful things by now, and thought she could handle it. But this was different. This was personal. With fresh tears glistening in her eyes, she tries to explain her feelings to Buffy. "I knew those guys. I go to that room every day. And when I walked in there, it wasn't our world anymore. They made it theirs. And they had fun." Buffy sees the pain on her face and comes to a realization. She tells Willow she's going to do what she has to do. After making Willow promise to stay inside for the night, she turns to go. "Buffy?" Willow asks. Buffy turns to look at her. "I like your dress." The two friends share a small smile and Buffy leaves.

Underground, the Master and Colin (the Anointed One) wait in the lair. The Master waves his hand and the air shimmers. He is still trapped... for the moment. Without a word, Colin leaves the lair, heading for the sewer exits. "Soon," the Master promises.

Back in the library, Ms. Calendar reiterates what Giles has told her. Basically, the Master tried to open the Hellmouth, failed and got trapped in it. Now the signs are reading that he will get out, the Hellmouth will open, the demons will escape, and the world will end. "The part that gets me though," Ms. Calendar says, "is where Buffy is the Vampire Slayer. She's so little!" As she talks, Giles gathers weapons from the cage.

Giles asks the teacher if she has heard anything from Brother Luka, the Italian monk. She tells him that the priest has disappeared but he did sent out one last global. Giles is curious to hear what it said. "Isaiah 11:6, which I dutifully looked up," Ms. Calendar says. But Giles has the passage memorized. "The wolf shall live with the lamb. The leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf, the lion, and the fatling together, and the little child to lead them." Ms. Calendar and Giles realize that the scripture could mean that the Anointed One is a child, and that Buffy didn't kill the Anointed after all. Ms. Calendar thinks that they need to warn Buffy, but Giles says no. He doesn't plan on involving her at all. "Buffy's not going to face The Master," he tells her. "I am."

"No, you're not," comes the Slayer's voice. Buffy walks farther into the room, a leather jacket thrown over her prom dress. She heard everything, including that the Anointed One is more than likely a child. Giles tells her that he has decided to face The Master in her place, and that for once in her life, she needs to listen to those older and wiser. "That's not how it works," Buffy says calmly. "I'm the Slayer." As Ms. Calendar watches in horrified amazement, Buffy throws a stunning punch to Giles's jaw; knocking him unconscious. Ms. Calendar rushes to Giles's side and looks up at Buffy speechlessly. "When he wakes up tell him... I don't know," Buffy tells her. "Think of something cool, tell him I said it." Ms. Calendar ignores her directive. "You fight The Master, and you'll die," she warns Buffy. "Maybe," Buffy says coolly. She picks up a crossbow and examines it. "Maybe I'll take him with me." She looks at Giles one last time, and leaves the library.

Buffy walks out Sunnydale High's front entrance, wielding her cross bow. She turns to see an innocent looking little boy standing on the lawn. "Help me," he pleads. Recognizing the Anointed One, she lowers her weapon and walks to him. "I know who you are," she says. The child offers his hand and the Slayer takes it, following him on the path to Hell, as was so long ago prophesied.

Back in the library, Xander and Willow have joined Giles and Ms. Calendar. Xander is furious that Buffy has gone to fight The Master, and even angrier that Giles allowed it. "As the soon to be purple area on my jaw will attest, I did not let her go," he argues. Willow tells Xander that they all need to keep calm. Ms. Calendar reminds them all that they have an apocalypse to worry about. Xander and Willow are annoyed at the intruder. "How come she's in the club," Willow asks Giles, an irritated scowl marring her pretty features. Ms. Calendar points out that once The Master is freed, the Hellmouth will open, and everybody will die. Trying to be exclusive is kind of missing the point. But Xander doesn't care. His first priority is saving Buffy. But Giles has no idea where the Slayer has gone. "No," Xander agrees. "But I can find out."

While Buffy is following the child through Sunnydale's sewer system and toward The Master's lair, Xander goes to see Angel. He tells Angel that Buffy has gone to fight The Master, and that they need to find her before she is killed. Angel tells Xander that he is way out of his league. "The Master will kill you before you can even breathe," he warns. But Xander is determined. "How can I say this clearly?" Xander asks him. He holds up a cross and advances on Angel. "I don't like you. At the end of the day, I pretty much think you're a vampire. But Buffy's got this big old yen for you. She thinks you're a real person. And right now I need you to prove her right." Angel looks up at him. "You're in love with her," he says. Xander doesn't deny it. "Aren't you?"

Back at the library, Giles enlists Ms. Calendar and Willow to help further research The Master. He worries that The Master will be extremely powerful once he reaches the surface. Ms. Calendar stops him to pose a question. "If he's underground and it's right where he is…" she wonders, "where's it going to open?" Giles isn't able to answer. Further research is in order, he decides.

The Anointed One leaves Buffy at the mouth of The Master's lair. He motions to her to enter, and then leaves. Buffy looks after him a moment and then enters the candlelit cave. Still holding her crossbow, she walks inside, taking in her surroundings. The lair is exactly as she has dreamed of it so many times before. "Welcome," comes a voice, startling her. She jumps, turning in the direction of the voice. The Master steps out of the shadows. She ignores him, and makes a sarcastic comment. "Oh good, the feeble banter portion of the fight. Why don't we—" But his words are cut off as Buffy spins around and shoots her crossbow toward his heart. Quick as a flash, his arm reaches up, catching the arrow before it can even pierce the fabric of his jacket. Buffy stares shocked for a second before rushing to reload her weapon.

In the sewers, Angel and Xander head for The Master's lair. Xander is paranoid and accuses Angel of staring at his neck. "I wasn't looking at your neck!" Angel snaps back. He moves on ahead. Xander is irritated. "I told you to eat before we left!"

In the lair, The Master stands calmly before Buffy. He breaks one of her arrows and tells her that she is not going to kill him with that crossbow. She tells him not to be so sure. "You still don't understand your part in all of this, do you?" Buffy is startled to see that he has vanished. "You are not the hunter. You are the lamb." The Master's voice seems to be coming from all around her, and Buffy looks frantically around, trying to pinpoint the source.

Meanwhile, Giles, Willow and Ms. Calendar are trying to figure out where The Master's vampire army will assemble in preparation of The Master's rising. Willow points out that the last time The Master tried to rise was The Harvest. She reminds them that when that happened, he sent the vampires to The Bronze. Willow's eyes widen as she realizes that the Prom is happening that night… at The Bronze. Ms. Calendar and Willow rush off to warn the students before something tragic can happen.

Back in the lair, Buffy is hunting for the vampire king who seems to have disappeared into thin air. Quick as a flash, he is behind her. She whirls but he punches her. Within seconds, he disarms her and grabs her by the neck.

Willow and Ms. Calendar rush out of the school heading for the teacher's car. Willow is worried. "What if they get to The Bronze before we do?" she asks, worriedly. The teacher comes to a sudden stop, a protective arm reaching out to prevent Willow from moving forward. Hundreds of vampires are walking toward them, surrounding them on all sides.

Buffy tries to fight The Master, but her attempts are clumsy and weak, very unlike the strong and practiced Slayer. She turns to run, but the vampire points an arm at her, mystically catching her in his hypnotic power. She stands motionless as his claw like fingers reach out to brush the hair off her neck and shoulders. "You tried. It was noble of you. You heard the prophecy that I was about to break free and you came to stop me. But prophecies are tricky creatures. They don't tell you everything." Unable to do anything to save herself, Buffy stands frozen in place; her fear only belied by her fearful panting and trembling lips. The Master leans toward her ear and whispers, "You're the one that sets me free!" A lone tear slips unbidden down the Slayer's cheek. "If you hadn't come, I couldn't go," He gloats. "Think about that." Finally done taunting his prey, The Master lowers his fangs and sinks them into the Slayer's neck. She gasps in pain, as he drinks deeply of the coveted Slayer blood. "Oh God, the power!" he cries out. Finally sated, he drops the Slayer face down into the pool of water. The Master waves his hand at the shimmering barrier. It wavers for a moment before mystically opening in a shower of light. He walks out of his prison, free to roam above ground at last.

In the tunnels, Xander and Angel witness the bright shower of light. Angel realizes that The Master has broken free. They are too late. They run to the lair and find Buffy, lifeless in a pool of water. Angel rushes to lift her from the water, cradling her limp body in his strong arms. Angel desperately listens for her breath but there is none. "She's dead," he tells Xander in alarm.

But Xander refuses to believe it. Buffy can't be dead. He suggests C.P.R. Angel can't do it. He doesn't have enough breath. But Xander can and he is all too willing. He rushes to his friend, and placing his mouth over hers, gives her a life saving kiss.

Meanwhile, the vampire army is advancing on Ms. Calendar and Willow. The teacher wants to know why they are coming toward the high school instead of The Bronze. Willow doesn't care why they are there, she just wants to get away. Out of nowhere, a BMW screeches up beside them. It's Cordelia. "Get in," she orders.

Xander is still performing chest compressions and breathing for the Slayer. "Come on," he urges. "Breathe, breathe!" He pumps harder on her chest. Angel turns his head away in despair. Just as it looks like all hope is lost, Buffy's eyes fly open in surprise. She coughs up a lung full of water as Xander strokes her forehead in relief. "Xander?" she asks weakly. "Welcome back," he says tenderly.

Ms. Calendar and Willow are all too willing to jump into Cordelia's car. "I was sitting where Kevin and I used to park and all the sudden these things were coming at me," Cordelia explains. A vampire jumps on top of the car, and all three women scream. Willow tells the group that they need to get to the library. Cordelia agrees. Squinting her eyes in determination, she floors the gas pedal and drives right through the school building; vampires diving out of the way. "Of course, we generally walk there," Willow says in shock. The car barrels through the walls of the school, skidding to a stop in front of the library. As they get out of the car, vampires run into the hall. Screaming, they rush into the library, barricading the door with as much furniture as they can find. Giles rushes to help. One vampire punches through the small circular window and grabs at them. Willow takes a sign and beats at the bloodsucker's arm until it retreats. Giles pushes a copy machine in front of the doors. Behind them, a green tentacle is making its way up through the cracks in the floor.

The Master pushes through a door and finds he is standing on the top of the school building. Breathing deeply, he reaches his arms wide as if to embrace it. "Oh, my world," he breathes, admiring the twinkling lights of the valley. "My beautiful world!" He stands at the edge of the building, arms still outstretched, drinking in the brilliant view. His delight is almost glorious to behold... if he weren't so evil.

Back in the lair, Xander and Angel help Buffy to her feet. She asks about The Master. They tell her he has gone to the surface. Buffy wants to go after him, but Xander protests that she is still weak. But Buffy just smiles. "No... I feel strong." She turns to them, and tosses a confident, almost carefree smile. "Let's go," she says, her voice sounding stronger than it has all night. The Slayer is back. And she's ready to kill The Master once and for all.

At the library's entrance, Giles and the gang are still fighting off the vampires. Giles notices that some of the bloodsuckers are trying to come in through the stacks. Ms. Calendar and Willow lift a bookcase against the doors that lead to the stacks and lean against it. A slimy tentacle reaches through the cracks in the library floor as a vampire grabs Cordelia through the window. "Somebody help!" she screeches.

Strength and confidence surround Buffy's aura as she marches toward Sunnydale High to contend with The Master. Xander and Angel flank her on either side. There is not a trace of her former fright as she heads toward her deadly foe. Buffy has faced her greatest fear, death, and won. Now her fear is replaced by an inner calm and a maturity far beyond her sixteen years. The Slayer is out in full force.

As the entrance to the school looms closer, a vampire steps out in front of them. "Oh look," Buffy says in mock dismay, "A bad guy." Without even stopping, she punches the vampire out and continues into the school. They reach the roof access doors. Buffy tells the guys to guard the door and prevent other vamps from following her to the roof. Angel puts on his game face as he and Xander prepare themselves to guard the girl they love to the death. "This won't take long," she promises them.

Cordelia opens her mouth and bites down hard on the vampire's hand. "See how you like it!" she snipes. Willow and Ms. Calendar struggle to keep the vampires from breaking through the stacks doors. Willow looks down at the floor and sees a demonic tentacle wrapped around her ankle. She and Ms. Calendar erupt in terrified screams and clutch each other, as they finally notice the demons coming through the Hellmouth. The small fissure in the floor ruptures and a slimy, tentacled, three-headed demon explodes through it. "The Hellmouth," Giles whispers. Cordelia's eyes widen in terror and she flattens herself against the library doors: The Hellmouth has opened.

On the roof, The Master is thrilled that his wicked plans are finally coming to fruition. He gazes down through the glass roof of the library, gleefully watching the terrifying action. "Yes. Come forth my child," he urges the tentacled demon. "Come into my world."

"I don't think it's yours just yet," a familiar voice tells him. The Master whirls toward the Slayer, his eyes widening in shock… and a little bit of fear. He recovers quickly. "You were destined to die. It was written!" "What can I say," the Slayer shrugs. "I flunked the written." Tired of the banter, he tries to take her by surprise. He points his clawed finger at her, intending to hypnotize her again, but she lurches back out of his reach. "Come here," he growls.

Inside the library, Ms. Calendar and Willow scream as the slimy demon tries to drag them into the Hellmouth. Giles grabs a handy axe and swings it at one of the heads of the demonic creature.

On the roof, Buffy slowly approaches The Master, pretending to be under his thrall. He grabs her neck. "Did you really think you could best me here when you couldn't below?" he asks her. Confident that she is still caught in his mystical grasp, he removes his hand from her throat. "You have fruit punch mouth," she randomly observes. The Master is taken off guard. Buffy exploits his momentary confusion by throwing a sharp punch to his jaw. He falls to the floor. "Save the hypnosis crap for the tourists," she suggests. The Master recovers himself quickly and the two fight.

In the library, Giles is still swinging his axe at the slimy demon. The demon roars in pain and uses one of its appendages to knock Giles off him. Giles falls to the main floor and crashes through the table, breaking it in half. A sharp wooden edge, conveniently shaped like a stake, points upwards toward the skylight.

Vampires charge at Xander and Angel who are still stationed at the roof entrance. One rushes Angel, tackling him to the ground. Within seconds, Angel stakes the bloodsucker. The female vampire jumps on Xander's back, who whips out a cross. She backs away from him and he throws a hard punch at her.

On the library floor, Giles tries to scuttle away from the demon's open mouth. Ms. Calendar and Willow shriek as its other head snaps hungrily at them.

On the roof, Buffy executes a flying somersault, landing behind The Master. He grabs her neck for the third time that evening. Buffy glances down through the skylight and sees the sharp wooden table edge. "Where are your jibes now," he sneers. "Will you laugh when my Hell is on Earth?" But Buffy is ready to end it. "You're that amped about hell?" she asks, grabbing him by the neck. "Go there!" She flips him over her shoulder, and sends him crashing down through the skylight. Her aim is true. The millennium old vampire falls to his death, impaled on the broken, wooden table. It drives right through his heart and the demon explodes into dust. But it's unlike any other demon dust Buffy has every witnessed. The blackness literally pours from his eye sockets, his nose, his chest... black dust flying upward like an exorcised demon forced from it's host...which is exactly what it is. And as The Master dies, the slimy demon is forcibly drawn back into hell. The Hellmouth is officially closed.

Moments later, Buffy, Xander and Angel enter the library. Cordelia tells Giles that the vampire army has gone. Giles confirms that The Master is indeed dead. Xander tells the group that Buffy "died and everything." Giles smiles. "I should have known that wouldn't stop you," he tells his Slayer. They share a warm look. Ms. Calendar interrupts the moment. "So what do we do now?" she wonders. Someone suggest heading to the Prom. "We saved the world," Buffy smiles. "I say we party!
