  • Michael and Sam and Fiona just doing what they gotta do.

It was do or die and the crook Paxson is chasing is run of the mill, Michael and the gang have to be people they are not accustomed to being but it gets colorful as they go about it totally fooling Tommy but Nicholas tried to be careful and as we all know too well, with Michael Weston one can never be too careful!, true grit on the good guys part. Paxson comes naturally with Michael's pursuit of his old job, making her know he's the friend is at this point manditory if he is to ever get any space to operate and as fiona learns at the end so will there be much more.moreless
  • Detective Paxson has put a tail on Michael 24/7 so Michael figures he has to help her to get out from under her thumb. He takes on a case she is trying even harder to crack. Sam and Fi come along to help out. Sam is audited by the IRS.moreless

The situation with Detective Paxson played by Moon Bloodgood has finally come to a head. After Michael and the team got her partner suspended she is on the rampage. Now Michael has a 24/7 tail from a marked police cruiser. For what Michael and his team do that has got to cramp his style. Especially when it got Fi in that troubling situation at the beginning of the episode.

Michael decides to do the one thing to get on Paxson's good side. Sam finds out what case has been causing her the most problem and Michael decides to solve it for her. A guy named Matheson who she has been chasing for a while and has got her in trouble a number of times for harassment. Basically handing her a conviction of Matheson thereby proving they are both on the same side. I especially thought leaving the C4 in the trunk was cute. It ties a nice bow for Paxson to close all of those cases she has been chasing Michael around about.

Getting into the gang thru Tommy played by Nicholas Turturro was an interesting idea. The techniques they used were unusual. You sort of wonder if that would really work. If Tommy had been a hardcore crook I'm not so sure. He had delusions of grandeur. In the end he was just in the right place at the wrong time and got himself into trouble so it was a nice side story that Michael and his team gets Tommy out from under a bad situation as well.

Talk about a bad situation, Sam is getting audited by the auditor from hell. This guy is out for blood. It was interesting how the baseball card came out and that triggered Sam's memory. All Stacey wanted was Sam's attention because he felt abandoned and he was using his position to get back at him. Once he learned the truth about Sam and his mother things seemed to ease up.

You have to wonder about Mike's obsession with getting back to the job. I feel he is losing Fiona acting the way he does. She has helped him a great deal and I think she expected things to go back to them being together once he was out from under his controlled situation. We'll see where this takes them.

Great action and a turn of a friendly card at the end with Paxson taking away the tail. Now that Mike seems to have a little more freedom we'll see how he uses it. I don't think this is the last time we see the Detective.

Production values were great as always and you have to like Miami and scenery. Thanks for reading.moreless
  • Good, not spectacular.

This is pretty much your routine Burn Notice. Nothing overly spectacular, but the same formula that leads to some fine drama, explosions and entertaining and witty dialogue. Moon Bloodgood is great and I hope she sticks around for the entire season, as the same four person cast of Donovan, Anwar, Campbell and Gless is starting to get a little dull (not that it isn't one of the best ensembles on television, because it is). Like I said another good episode of Burn Notice, but not something too memorable that I will be talking about for weeks to come. There just hasn't been too many of those lately.moreless
  • Fearles Leader is basically about how a cop named Officer Paxon, puts a 24/7 tail on Michael to make sure he stays out of trouble. The only way he can get out of it is by proving they both are on the same page.moreless

I thought this episode was a great one. I wouldn't go as far to say it's the BEST one, but it is definitely one worth watching. I have just gotten hooked on the series, and this is for sure in my favorites. It's just simply not the one I would want to watch first if I wanted to get interested into the whole series. I would probably watcht the season 3 episode 1 if I were really wanting a good one. Like I said, I'm new to Burn Notice, so that's just the best I've seen so far.moreless

    • Michael hides a bug in a pack of Morley cigarettes. This is a tip of the hat to The X-Files where the nemesis of FBI agents Mulder & Scully was the infamous cigarette smoking man, who smoked Morley cigarettes.
