  • I continue to love this show. Definitely formula but a great one!

I am continually engrossed with the "get my life back" story and love the weekly stories as well. Was there a better episode than Michael snapping his fingers and things blowing up? This episode is great and to see John Mahoney coming back!! Woof!

I know many who love this show - and some of them on a more professional level. ;-) I have high hopes that eventually Michael gets his life back and moves to another location to continue his "work" of helping those that can't for themselves. There are plenty of bad guys in the world. Maybe he can take on Al Quaeda...moreless
  • I want more!

Gilroy... I felt sorry for him, he went from bad guy to victim. It was a surprise to see him go and what a way. And too bad we won't be able to see more of Chris Vance, I loved him in 'Mental' and I was enjoying him as the bad guy here. Now the question is: Who came down from the plane? What kind of dangerous person is he and does he have a plan against Michael?

I loved to see more of Fi and even when being the kind of 'professional' that Fi was, blowing things and all, she has a good heart and she is human. She could've let the guy died but she insisted on going back for him. And good for the writers to Gabrielle a little more time on screen and let her show her acting skills.

One more thing: We had a sexy guy, Chris Vance but we girls are so blessed that we get to see Carlos Bernard! :D Oh and Jeffrey Donovan of course ;)moreless
  • Gilroy is still riding Michael to get things done while he's in the dark. It costs Gilroy in the end. Fi has an acquaintance get her in some deep trouble. Michael and Sam work with her to get her out. It involves a kidnapping.moreless

Not the best plot line I've seen from Burn Notice, but not the worst either. About three quarters of the way through this episode could have gone either way. Between Fi's situation and Michael being in the dark about the really important things the plots got a little fuzzy.

The doctor was another bizarre character. Nothing about him really jived. He was extremely paranoid to the point of being delusional. He was ready to kill people because he just wasn't sure of their intentions. How can you trust someone that would just kill you because they hire you and then doubt your sincerity. Let's face it. In the world this guy is playing in the people you can trust are probably counted on one hand at the most. He was in the wrong line of business or revenge!

Gilroy truly amazes me. Is this guy that much of a goof to fall for what ended up happening? After everything we'd seen of him the way he ends up was just not believable. We are back to the issue of trust. Give me a break.

Michael and the team really make up for this, but the circumstances to bring them to the finale are a little suspect. So I'll leave it at that. We needed to get where we are and we're there. So we'll see where this all takes us in the finale to this season next week. Thanks for reading...moreless
  • One of the most pressing things we find out in this episode is that Fi has an Achilles heal, the death of her sister. It ends up being what drives her to the IRA. As for Mikey, his ability to multi-task is stretched about as thin as it can be.moreless

This episode is shocking. It actually has a lot to absorb. There is a new twist on Fi's back story that comes out in this episode revolving around the death of her sister, which is a great detractor from the fact the Mikey is about to become public enemy #1. As if he didn't have enough problems. This is just a hunch but the fact that Mike and Gilroy between them caused an airport to be shut down, diverted a plane, blew up a public access way, accosted a police officer and took his service weapon, steals a jet ski and not to mention most likely let the worlds most ruthless psychopath not named Osama loose, I'm thinking the show could move from Miami. It's too hot in South Beach and we don't mean the weather. There will be more acronyms looking for the Burn Notice trio in the greater Miami - Dade area than there are letters in the alphabet. I don't see Mike's "Simon issue" resolving this week either which leads us into a wild and wooley Season 4. Simon is the operative who actually got Mike burned. All of the crimes that Mike was accused of in his dossier way back in Season 1 were really pulled off by this Simon character who we will all meet this Thursday. It remains to be seen if "Management" gets involved, but I'm sure the fact that this crazy that was sprung from Chile and is now on the loose has put hair across someone's backside in the black ops world. Hey! Thursday night 10 PM USA Network in HD. Bring the popcorn and hold on to your hat. It might be the only thing you can hold onto for dear life!moreless
  • Great penultimate episode.

"Didn't go as planned!" I must've seen that in the promo spot leading up to this episode about 20 times, but it made me laugh every time, including during the actual episode.

This had a bit of everything, and a lot of action to the fill the hunger of the viewers who had been craving more fire and explosions, but had not gotten much of that this season.

This was just a prelude to what I hope is going to be an excellent finale, but as I watched it on a cold, snowy Thursday night I was definitely entertained. Nice Burn Notice tonight.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • The passport check would not have been valid, Fiona would have been using an Irish passport and they do not stamp those when entering another EU country such as Spain.

    • Sam tells Michael that a fuel truck hit a Cessna at the airport, but the plane that they show burning (assuming it is the one Sam is talking about) is actually manufactured by Beechcraft, not Cessna.

    • Featured Music:
"This Is My Life (Instrumental)" by Psideralica (Opening scenes)
"Catch Me" by Endorphin (Gun heist)
"Goin' On" by L.A. Carpool (Colman offers a job)
"All Mine" by Daniel Lenz (Fiona starts the job)
"Yellow Break" by DJ Kambo (Fiona meets the boss)

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Michael: (when Fiona is in danger) The hardest thing to do when an operation goes bad is nothing at all. It's pure torture, but if it's the only way to give a team member a chance at survival, you have no choice but to stand by and watch.

    • Fiona: Are you bugging my cellphone?
Sam: Right now, you and Mike are fighting for top bunk in Sam's doghouse. I already watched one of you wander away with a psycho today. I'll be damned if it happens again.

    • Madeline: Hey, I brought some chicken soup for Fi. Don't worry, I didn't make it.
