Michael helps out Virgil friend that lost some pharmaceuticals and wants it retrieved back. Sam goes undercover as a business man with an opportunity and Michael goes undercover as a Chemist. Also, Michael talks with Seymore the arms dealer to try to get information about the sniper rifle and finds out that someone is eliminating all traces who knows about the rifle. Good episode always fun to watch the twist and turns and setup that happens, were pretty much in the dark here just like the characters in the show are and don't really see a main purpose to this show. Other than helping clients there is no bigger picture only a glimpse of one, and yea at times its like looking at CSI or Law and Order where they have a semi story going on but mainly its solving crimes or getting the bad people no special purpose of a story.
It was good, but with two epsiodes left in the season can anyone really tell me that we have learned anything about the people that burned Michael? The first epsiode of the season was a good starting point for the rest of the season, but since then the writing just hasn't been as up to par as it needs to be for a show like this. I understand its only a show on USA and not national television, but I'm beginning to understand why its not on national television. The plot is not going anywhere. It hasnt been for a while now. The episode was solid, but it wasnt amazing. Virgil returns - thats awesome, wheres the people that burned Michael running off to. Its been so long I've forgotten there names. I have no problem waiting for them, but don't introduce them until you are ready to commit to them.
This episode had ther right combination of comedy and action. Michael's new character was very funny and I have to say Jeffrey did a great performance of a silly, dumb man. He was convincing. And he got away with it.
Michael's concern for his mother was sweet. Sam's comments are hilarious, he seems to know Michael's weakest point sometimes.
Fiona got Michael worried. He had the date thing in his head most of the time and I think he was a little bit happy that Fiona cancelled his date the first time. Him telling Fiona she looked beautiful was nice. I guess that at some point he still feels something for her, but he's not sure if he's fine on his own or could be better with her.
Michael is hired to track down nearly a million dollars worth of pharmaceuticals that were stolen by thieves on their way to Tanzania. Add a couple incidents with a gun dealer and you have a decent episode.
This was a pretty good episode. Their best work is when they have several things going on at the same time. Main story and some character development or comic relief. This time they had some gun dealer who kept popping into the story. The gun powder cloud at the end was pretty contrived, and looks like another job for another show that cannot be named, that proves and disproves things like this. At the end of the show, Fiona was going to go on a date, and she was dressed to kill. Could someone tell me where Fiona got that white dress she was wearing at the end of the story?
It is unfortunate that people would steal drugs that are really helpful to people. If they want to steal cocaine and stuff, have at it and kill yourselves off. Unfortunately stealing drugs for the needy and even food seems to be the norm now and that is sad.
Is it real, sadly yes. This was not the best of writing and I saw Michael Horowitz was one of the writers and he did some amazing work in Foyle's War, but sadly this is not up to that level of work.
I like when the tell you the truths about things, not the Hollywood version. I liked it overall and know that the guy will be back next season for another reason just to get close to Michael's Mom who at times can be a distraction.
I did like when they were leaving the gun guys house and Fiona took a little something for their trouble. She is funny as a gun happy woman.
Virgil comes back in this episode asking for help for one of his friends. Someone stole medical supplies and Virgil wants Michael to help him get it back. The story was just ok in this episode. I did like the drug dealer though; he was an interesting character (plus I like the actor...). I liked seeing Virgil again. I love his character interactions with Michael, as well as Michael's mom. I think there were several sweet moments between Fi and Michael, which I love. Overall, the story was lacking and I wanted to see more of Michael's handlers, but the character developments and interactions made up for the shortcomings.
"What will the neighbors think? They've been living next to a DRUG DEALER!"
I've praised Burn Notice's writing, acting from Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell and its original storylines. One thing I never said about the show was that it's slow-moving, but after seeing the latest installment I might have to.
The story took awhile to get into and then seemed like a 2 hour broadcast instead of one while waiting for the payoff. I still have to give the program a high rating because it was well-written and the acting was great. It featured an entertaining guest appearance by The Unit's Max Martini. Michael playing an asthmatic, frightened meth dealer was hilarious as was Fiona playing up the stereotype of women not being able to drive.
The ending was kind of weak though. It came out of nowhere, uncharacteristic to Burn Notice where the conclusion is usually climatic and exciting. A fun episode, but a little more effort could've gone into it.
