  • The Painting Thief

This is episode was very hilarious, Michael pretending to be a security consulted fooling the painter thief in to thinking that he's being hacked and infiltrated. Michael and Fiona go catch a bomber thief and finally gets them, and also try to work out what happen the other night between them very great episode I enjoyed in awhile.
  • Terrible! sack the writers.

    What the hell!

In the film Legal Eagles (1986) Daryl Hannah as Chelsea Deardon is after the art dealer who killed her father and stole her painting. Couldn't the writers come up with something more original in this episode. It seems they totally plagiarized Legal Eagles story line, all bar the characters names.

if I was the original writers of the said film, I would be suing right now.

I can tell you I'm discussed. I like this series a lot, however if all we are going to get is unoriginal story lines then forget it. throw it in the waste bin.

    it isn't worth the watch.

  • This is much shorter than I like it to be, but it's been one of those weeks. Plus this episode was tame in comparison to the usual fine stuff that Burn Notice puts out. Brief thoughts on the episode just as soon as I find my spy manual…

Plot Synopsis (S02E12) – Michael, under the alias of Miles Parker, is hired by Scott Chandler to investigate strange activity - log-ins at odd hours, unusual computer activity and telephone bugging - at an art gallery. But after realizing that the gallery's receptionist wants to bring down Chandler for killing her artist father, Michael finds himself working against Chandler.

Seymour helps Michael find the bomber that tried to off him, while Michael works on getting some cash by taking on a new job.

More Thoughts on 'Seek and Destroy':

    - Loved everything from Seymour in this, especially the monogrammed knives for all three of them. Silas Weir Mitchell plays weird/creepy/druggy/f-ed up really well, and it's no different here. Except here's a more endearing arms dealer.

    - The stuff that I really liked about this episode was the Fi and Michael stuff, the story itself was kind of bland Bottom Line: The B story was bland, but the Seymour/Fi/Michael stuff was great Next week: Michael is trapped in a bank and he's not alone…

  • Not like other episodes...

This wasn't like other episodes. It lacked action and those great funny moments from the main cast. Maybe it has to be with the fact that I personally don't like the actress who played the recepcionist. I have to say this was more Michael and Fiona oriented, as they have to deal with the aftermath of their encounter. We didn't have Madeline to delight us, but we had Seymour. The first was exciting (I say it was the most exciting of the whole episode) and his comments about Fiona and Michael were very... accurate. He's probably right. Their job is indeed dangerous but there's something about the two of them that brings them together. The gifts were a nich thing.
  • A back to basics episode

This one was a very entertaining episode. Michael needs money so he takes what for him is almost a normal job - helping a gallery owner with his security breach problems, but doing it under an alias so as not to attract attention. Joel Gretsch (Tom Baldwin from the 4400)plays the gallery owner - it was so great to see him in this (I miss him and the 4400!). The episode had a nice brisk pace, included some impressive spy resourcefulness in the use of common objects to get out of a jam, and had more genuinely funny humourous moments than I've seen in recent episodes (I like the wry humour on this show, and miss it when it is lacking). The acting from all characters seemed more sincere and engaged this episode than lately. I hope this episode signals a trend toward more 'fun' and clever episodes - I think that's what this show does the best. I don't mind the broader Carla/burn plots, but I dislike it when they cast too much of a shadow over Michael's other spy projects (and family dynamics).
  • Another Great Episode

This was a great episode with the main plot a sub-plot and a couple of twists. Initially a man named Scott Chandler wants Michael to find out who is spying on him. As it turns out a girl named Melanie was spying on him to gather information about a painting her father had painted and the fact the Scott Chandler had killed him for the painting to put on the black market because it will bring in $7,000,000. Michael checks out her story and everything is on the up and up, so he refocuses his attention to helping her get the painting back and set Chandler up. The plan goes well as Michael uses his spy techniques to make Chandler think someone is trying to kill him. Michael convinces him to take him to the paining, where he knocks out Chandler and takes to painting to the rightful owner, Melanie. In the end Chandler's partner in crime kills him.

Meanwhile Michael is trying to find the location of the man who blew up his loft. He uses Seymour the Arms Dealer to locate him. He is located in a remote house in the middle of know where. The house he is in is rigged to explode, so Seymour gets Michael and Fiona some special guns to disable the charges of the explosions and capture the guy. He gives them the information they want before sending of to some God forsaken place.

Most people say this is a bad episode but i must disagree. this episode has one of the greatest storylines this season. It's a very realistic episode and a still its pretty simple. this is one of the few episodes that truelly show us how a spy works. it's not all about shooting, it's mostly about controlling the other guys mind and making him do what you want, and this episode is great for that. Michael shows us is not turning into a simple tv spy, he still prefers duct tape over a gun to fight his wars! "Guns make you stupid ... duct tape makes you smart!"

After two great installments in the back half of the second season Burn Notice disappointed me tonight. The show has a lot of buzz recently with strong ratings, including topping NBC's ER last week, but this may have killed some of that momentum.

I just never got into the story here. Burn Notice works best in the same way TNT's Leverage works, when the stars are helping somebody screwed get payback. This story did not have an emotional effect on Michael and there weren't any truly memorable comedic lines (although I did like Sam mentioning how Michael was out buying yogurt). You can't win them all I guess.
