This is my absolutely fav show! BUT the one last night (The Hunter) was the worst written episode ever. Did the writers phone it in or what! All it was was Michael running around in the swamp with some guy he didn't even know, with no indication as to why. The script didn't even make an ounce of sense or have any rationality to it. And it was totally lacking in all the chemistry between the key players that usually make this show a total standout. Fiona was probably on screen for ~45 seconds which is always a loss. They need to play her role up more and especially the chemistry between her and Michael. And Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless are terrific.

wow! another great episode from our favorite burned spy. although i wonder every single day why the agency won't accept mike back into the game, i'm glad they won't coz we wouldn't have such an awesome show! hehehe. in this episode, we see why Mike is one of the best spies in the field. i just love the way he handled the jungle situation. flushing out the leader so he can destroy the army even though he was being hindered by a guy who didn't believe in him. it was the oldest trick in the book, but still oh so effective. plus, it was funny when mike's mom took over the interrogation. hehe. and wow, whoever is fi's wardrobe manager, good job! she always looks hot!
  • When Michael is kidnapped by a Ukrainian with a grudge, he is stuck in the Everglades with only a knife and a crime boss with a bad attitude. He must use all of his spy tricks and cunning to outmaneuver his enemies.

It's hard to imagine but this show just gets better with each season. Last night's episode ("The Hunter") was superb! It worked as a spy caper and adventure tale with humor sprinkled in for good measure. Being kidnapped and stuck out in the Everglades with nothing but a knife and an annoying crime boss who can't do anything, Michael still managed to outsmart the 12 baddies who were after him. Some shows, you can't wait till their over; this show always ends too soon!

It's midway through season 3 and the writers don't seem to be losing steam. They always find a way to keep Michael's life interesting! Michael Westen (as portrayed by Jeffrey Donovan) is smart, slick and resourceful. His loyal sidekicks Sam and Fi (Bruce Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar) always have his back (and with wry comments thrown in for good measure) and his annoying mother (Sharon Gless) even manages to help out every now and again.

Great cast + superb writing and directing = the best show on TV!

If you're not watching this show, shame on you!
  • Michael is being approached for mercenary jobs by a man named Strickland. He is told a Ukrainian is coming to town to kill him. So Michael reaches out to a contact of Fiona's named Beck. Before he can get any information both he and Beck are kidnapped.

Terrific episode full of suspense, action, and some surprises. The regular cast is great but Heith Diamond as Beck is very good as Michael's unwanted partner.

Fi is taking some of her aggression toward Michael out on him while they are working out. In the end when push comes to shove she is always there for Michael and this time is not different.

Sam who's staying with Madeline is walking a fine line with her when he talks about Michael's business. It's becoming apparent that she knows more than she let's on. Sam and Fi make a great team to back up Michael and again in this case they do what they have to get things done.

Sharon Gless as Madeline was great. She got the information from the pilot without spilling any tears or blood. In a way she told it like it was without the shouting and screaming usually associated with this kind of interrogation. Very clever on her part. I'm glad that she made Sam tell her what was going on.

Heith Diamond as Beck with all his huffing and puffing could be a great contact for Michael in the end. Of course he was a major pain in the swamp. You have to figure though that someone who usually is in charge would act that way. In a way it was to Michael's advantage that he was there. In another it slowed Michael down.

The Ukrainian let his emotions get to him too much which was his downfall. I don't think a business like Michael's allows for too many emotional outbursts and people who can't control those emotions should probably stay out of the business. Revenge is generally meaningless. Especially many years later.

A really wonderful episode with exceptional acting, great production value, a good storyline, and action that makes Burn Notice what it is. Thanks for reading...
  • Awesome episode.

If you had any doubts of Burn Notice being a top show on television this episode surely disproved you of that notion and made the fact that this show got no Emmy nominations even more mind-boggling.

B Note truly is the cure for those mid-Summer blues with the perfect mix of smart writing and total nonstop action to satisfy fans of every demographic searching for something good on TV. There's a reason it's USA Network's gold standard and the second highest rated show on cable.

Too many good scenes to list but I think the highlight of the episode was Madeline getting the information from the prisoner showing that she does not need to be babied the way Michael, Fionna and Sam constantly do. Definitely a great, defining and funny moment in Burn Notice history.
