TRIVIA: The mosquitoes and malaria referred to in the episode are Anopheles mosquitoes, which are capable of carrying the worst strain of malaria, Plasmodium Falciparum.
Jake (to Edward): Well, if it isn't the Indiana Jones of virologists!
(Edward overhears Jake talking to Kimberly about Alan again)
Edward: What is up with you, Jake, you talking about Alan again? And if you've got something to say to me, I wish you had the guts to say it to my face.
Jake: No, I don't have anything to say to you.
Edward: I've been taking your crap since I got here and I'm sick of it!
Jake: What you gonna do about it?! Ship me off to Africa and give me Ebola?!
Edward (to Kimberly): I want to apologise for how I acted earlier and... say I'm sorry for not going to Alan's funeral. I told myself it was because there was so much work to do in Zaire. The fact of the matter is that I didn't want to face you.
(Edward apologises for his part in Alan's death)
Kimberly: I've always known that Alan made his own choice - I mean, I knew he wanted to be there with you, to help people. I loved him for that... and I blamed you for his death because you were such an easy target.
Goof: Cassian As they examine a package of stored O- blood: I'll bet you my '59 Caddy that blood has malaria virus in it.
Malaria is a parasite-borne disease, not a viral disease, as Cassian should be well aware. After microscopic examination, Dr. Shiroma correctly identifies the appropriate agents as "malaria parasites".
