Episode Summary

EDIT
The Taking of PC-7
AIRED:
Torque is taken to Penal Colony Seven by Booster and XR; he escapes from them and wrests control of the prison (with the aid of his many "clones"). At the same time, the President of the Galactic Alliance is being given a tour of PC-7 and being shown its high-tech security system. The security system proves to have some "bugs" when it determines that all non-secure persons in PC-7 MUST be escaped prisoners, thus it attempts to capture and subdue not only Torque (and his "clones"), but also the Galactic President, Booster, and XR. From orbit outside PC-7, Mira and Buzz attempt to help out, but the system interprets their actions as aid for the supposed "prison break" going on inside.moreless

  • This is a great episode and we really enjoyed watching it.

    9.0
They did a good job with the personality switching theme in this episode. There is a lot of irony. It's very ironic when Mira accidentally gives away their plan and activates the security system's external defenses. It's ironic when XR tries to break into the main computer and the guard bots are diverted away from protecting the president. And it's ironic when Buzz changes into Torque's body and duplicates himself, then fights against a bad guy's personality in his own body, then winds up being seriously injured (by himselves) once they've sorted everything out. And it's ironic when Booster messes everything up, then saves the day and gets a medal as a result.

Another review says this episode is full of holes. It's true that there are a few holes in this episode, but really not that many. The prison computer is a security system that was not designed to allow anyone to break into it. The guardbots are serving as the president's bodyguards, and she doesn't have a body guard in Return to Karn either. Guardbots are just as pathetic as hornets, which makes XR look like an amazing robot.moreless
  • One of the worst episodes in the series.

    4.0
With multiple plotholes, this is a horrible episode. For a maximum security prison, it has too many faults to be affective.

Booster and XR are stupid beyond belief in this episode. The prison computer, however, is a lot dumber. Mira and Buzz try to help, but end up making things worse. At the end, the bad guy, Torque, loses and Booster gets a medal. Why? Because this episode does not have enough flaws.

Avoid this episode if you value your IQ. There are better episodes to watch, but there are lamer.

It is a shame that this series is over, but at least we do not have to waste time with episodes like these.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Huge holes and illogical behavior abound. A few examples:
      - Why does the President have no bodyguard?
      - After missing it's first shot, why does the guardbot just sit there and let Torque take it's weapon and punch it's lights out?
      - Why is there no computer access from the control room?
      - How does Torque break into the armory AFTER total lockdown?
      - Why is the prison computer that stupid?
      - Why doesn't Mira ghost Buzz in?
      - Why do Mira and XR act as if they are unarmed?
      - When the 3 Torques are shooting at Booster, why do XR and Mira do nothing?
      - Why does Booster get a medal when the whole incident was his fault in the first place?

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Computer: You have committed an illegal act.
Buzz: (evil from the helmet) Thanks for noticing. (blasts computer with the laser he's using)
XR: Why didn't I think of that?

    • Tough Criminal: Ooh, is this illaminate?

    • Warden Yung: The UPA takes even the most dangerous criminal and gives him the personality of a polite, law-abiding citizen (uses the UPA on a Tough Criminal)!
Tough Criminal: I think you've got a problem here, Warden. You betcha you do, 'cause you have inferior floor covering! Not to worry, 'cause at Solar City Carpets, we have a HUGE selection of factory-direct values!
Warden Yung: You see? In this case, we've chosen the personality of a friendly carpet salesman!

  • NOTES (1)

    • We learn that Jo-Ad inhabitants don't have brains in their heads. There brains are located way below their heads. That's why Booster mind wasn't turned into a criminal's mind by the U.P.A.
