Full Episode Summary

The lord of a manor makes a new will, leaving his fortune to Shrewsbury Abbey instead of his stepson - and then the landowner dies suddenly, with the suspicion that he was killed, poisoned with an excess of one of Cadfael's herbal remedies. Cadfael is called in to investigate, and he is amazed to find that the dead man's wife is his own childhood sweetheart, whom he has not seen for forty years.
