I've heard that the first box set may finally be out later this year. I hope so. It's been long enough.

It's not on cable very often that I know of, so it'd be nice to get access to this show again.

Yeah its supposed too be coming out later in the year, im guessing a x-mas release or maybe and probally a mid-jan/ early feb release.

the thing there having trouble with is how there going to put the episodes on dvd. weather there going to put both the "pilot" and seasons 1&2 or just seasons 1&2 or just season 2.

i think it would be stupid to start the cagney & Lacey dvd collection starting with season 2. i think if your gonna start something, start it from the beginning.

i can't wait, go to tvshowsondvd.com and vote!

I heard the release date is being pushed back to 2007. Maybe this will mean more bonus features in the set?

That would be cool if we get some good extras. I would love to hear some director commentaries.

I also hope we get plenty of commentary from the main actors. They were excellent in the roles, and it was important both for the stories themselves, plus as leading women characters, so I think it'll be very interesting to hear what they have to say.

About the DVD release, I've just had the confirmation that there will be a lot of cool extras stuff on the because of the 25th anniversary edition. Extras will include interviews of Sharon Gless, Tyne Daly, Barney Rosenzweig and other producers especially made for this special edition...but still no date for the release, I guess we'll have to be patient a little longer...but it will be worth it I'm sure.

    Got my DVD set today

It's nicely done, two slim double amaray cases in a cardboard slipcase. Double-sided DVDs, which I'm not that keen on, but never mind. Nice artwork too.

There's a two-part featurette, "Breaking the Laws of TV", that seems to be the only extra.

    Can't wait to watch it

I'm so jealous...I couldnt get a ride to Best Buy today. I'm over the moon about the first season coming out- they've played a few episodes on our local stations...I wouldn't really expect a commentary from Tyne Daly- "I remember nothing, I deny everything", but I'll keep my fingers crossed for sea 2 bonus commentaries.
