C'mon, you guys know that's not the reason......I've seen a couple other toddler's shows where the mai character is bald I think it's just supposed to make the character look cuter...or something But if you ask me, they look more like a baby if you make them bald, because kids should have a full head of hair by that age.

And now-- the correct answer-- Caillou is bald because the program was adapted from an existing children's book property about a slightly younger character, who was bald.

This question has been mentioned in FAQs on official sites for the show. It was stated that children watching the show rarely, if ever, talking about Caillou's baldness. And if forced to talk about it by being asked directly, they just say something like that he just is and they don't really show any signs of caring whether he has hair or not.
