Cain is visiting old friend Doug Crawford, now a rural district attorney, on his vacation and ends up on opposite sides of the courtroom from his old pal when he defends racketeer Bill Norman on an assault charge. Initially believing that Norman might truly be innocent, Cain soon learns that things aren't exactly as they seem regarding the events of the night of the assault.moreless
