Marci thinks that she is in bed with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Charlie, and decides to try her five-knuckle shuffe, only to discover that she is actually in bed with Hank. Hank gets a surprise wake-up call and heads outside to find that his Porsche needs a jump start. Karen decides to help him but doesn't' show any signs of forgiving him for anything.
Abby is annoyed with Hank after they spent a night together and questions what he wants from her.
Hank tries to reconnect with Becca, who just wants her dad to start being there for her more and become more of a father figure, but instead Hank decides to buy her a new guitar. He takes her to a guitar shop that is owned by famous musician, Zakk Wylde. When she finds one that she likes, he tries to buy it for her, but his credit card is declined.
The production company working on the film version of "Fucking and Punching" has made some progress by casting Eddie Nero (Rob Lowe) to play Hank. Charlie sets up a meeting between the two of them to get the partnership moving forward. Sasha is still trying to convince Hank to work on re-working the script for the film. She brings him to her hotel room so that he can have some time to work on it. Instead of doing that, he goes into the bathroom and takes a bunch of sleeping pills.
Hank returns home to sit down and write an apology letter to Becca but is in a drug and alcohol induced haze that causes the letter to look more like a suicide note than a heartfelt apology. Hank finishes the note and falls to the floor, unconscious.
