Man, last year I was disappointed with Californication, but this third season is back to the highly entertaining, dark and classically-humorous show we saw during the inaugural season. Peter Gallagher is awesome as Dean Stacy Koons and Hank Moody is on top of his game as always with his witty lines that just make women throw their clothes off.

Kathleen Turner manages to both make you laugh and really creep you out with her role as Charlie's boss, so that's just another unique element about this show. I think a lot of things that are funny on Californication would not pass for funny elsewhere and that just shows what a special show this is.
  • Hank to Jill: you're scary smart, you're crazy beautiful, and you're also incredibly sexual...and 2 minutes later their bodies become entangled on top of Mr Koons private study's desk...

So why do women find Hank so irresistable? Fortune and fame? Compared to the rest of the habitants of LA, his little pile of gold and his dirty Porsche can hardly count for much, not even if you throw in his ruggedly handsome looks and his writer's charm. Here's what made me realize why Hank will eternally be irresistable to women:

Hank: It's my purgatory, dinner, drinks, whatever, never really all that interested but i find myself telling her how beautiful she is anyway. Because it's true, all women are, in one way or another, you know there's always something about everyone of you, there's a smile, a curve, a secret, you ladies really are the most amazing creatures, my life's work. But then there's the morning after, the hang-over, and the realization that I'm not so available as I thought I was the night before.

It's because Hank loves women, he's not out to conquer territory or increase his score, he simply loves women in a more general sense. That's why he gave those compliments to Jill. He didn't need to get laid, he just narrowly escaped Mrs Koons kiss-attack, he only wanted Jill to understand that she is a wonderful, attractive woman. This is almost the kinda advice you'd expect from Sex and the City!

Hank is a woman-lover, not a womanizer. He may express it in unorthodox ways, such as being extremely promiscuous, but he's never done anything bad to a woman (OK except for cheating on Karen), while he's pulled plenty of wicked stunts to all the other men on the show. Usually he just acts his normal woman-loving but **** self, and the women come flocking to him. Why? Because we women have a radar for men who don't only want sex, but who cares about us and who respects us. Hank is the most obvious specimen of such a kind. Exaggerrated of course because we're on TV, but this is the modern day Casanova, the type of men that all women love to hate but cannot bear to.

Now to some of the more menial plots during this episode:

So Hank and Mrs Koons' kiss was the biggest non-surprise of this TV season, their not-having-sex was quite the bomb though. You'd almost believe Hank's behaving...until he shags Jill. As I said, he loves women!

OK, am I the only one who find Sue's sexual harrassment of Charlie more vulgar than Hank's casual sex with women? The age limit for watching her should be like 28 or sump.

Busty English student with a sexy stripper alter ego is soooooo not worthy a replacement for Mia, I want her back! More punchin and f**kin please!

I said it, I meant it, I'm here to represent it? That's about the cheesiest thing ever to come out of Hank's mouth. Next episode please!
