Sister Monica Joan's mental state seems to worsen and she is found wandering near the docks in her nightie by the police. As a result she catches pneumonia. More trouble finds her when she is accused of theft. The case is brought to trial, the nuns and nurses of Nonnatus House fear that she might go to jail.
