  • Parasitic Pal was perfect while It's No Picnic was superb

    9.5
Parasitic Pal: This episode and It's No Picnic is going to be on Cartoon Network today this morning so I decided to review it before I see these episode. I thought this was a perfect episode. The plot to the episode very nice and funny. Lazlo growing some leech (named Lamar) was very funny. I thought the beginning was funny when Lazlo was walking by and the campers are scared. It was very funny that Lazlo was putting Lamar on his wagon so he can go to the swimming contest and it disappears. The song during the montage was pretty funny as well. Overall, a perfect episode. 10/10

It's No Picnic: I thought this was a superb episode. The Bean Scouts and the Squirrel Scouts are having an argument who should own the new mud puddle. The Squirrel Scouts challenge them to a pinecone sitting contest. The rules are simple: the last person sitting on a pinecone will not only win the contest but the mud puddle as well. The plot was very interesting and great. The contest was my favorite part in this episode. My score is lower because I think I only laughed twice and this episode seems to focus on action than humor. Overall, a superb episode. 9/10moreless
  • My favorite episode.

    10
These two episodes are by far my most favorite. To me, they're the most funniest and the most action-packed episodes on this whole show. In Paristic-Pal, a leech gets attached to Lazlo and he becomes friends with it-FUNNY! And in It's no Picnic, the Bean Scouts and the Squirrel Scout go against each other for a mud puddle-FUNNY/ACTIONPACKED! If you've never seen these episodes, you really need too because these are the best episodes on this show, EVER!moreless
  • "Parasitic Pal" was funny and "It's No Picnic" was a cute episode!

    10
Parasitic Pal: Lazlo gets a leech (correction, a sea lamprey) that sucks his blood but Lazlo doesn't realise it. Pretty funny, for that Lazlo just thought of being friends with Lamar. Sad taht they tried to seperate each other but it was for a good reason: Lazlo was being weakened from Lamar. Anyway, it's pretty funny that Edward at first really wanted to take the sea lamprey from Lazlo but later, he gets sad about it.

It's No Picnic: A very cute episode! Very much, I really liked idea of a Boys vs. Girls concept! At their age, that's something they take really serious. Moreover, it was for the mud puddles. I found it cute how Patsy seemed to show her love for Lazlo in front of him but I'm not sure if Lazlo realised it.

    Final Grade: A+moreless
  • Parasitic Pal was a very silly episode because of how Lazlo treated the situation. It was good. It's No Picnic was also good but I disliked it for some reasons.

    8.2
Parasitic Pal, like I said, was a very silly episode because of Lamar. The nurse was quite cruel but he was funny to just let it go and let Lazlo die. Raj's and Clam's reaction to Lamar was quite funny. I also liked the way Lamar's disappearance was done in the sense that Edward, despite being Lazlo's arch rival, comforted him and scolded one of the dung beetles for making fun of Lamar. However, the ending which was good was also scary because the nurse was so selfish. It would have been great if they provided more of him in the episode.

It's No Picnic was an alright episode but i would not consider it to be absolutely fabulous. I liked the relationship between Lumpus and Jane Doe. Ot was getting exciting. Laslo and Patsy's relationship was nice but also rushed, the good thing was that at least Edward didn't blame Lazlo and the Squirrel Scouts couldnt play in the mud puddle anymore. And, like various fans, I really enjoyed the ending when Clam, a character who acts dumb, was smart to think of the idea of climbing up the tree. The first thing I disliked about the episode was already mentioned, which was Lazlo and Patsy's relationship. The second reason was that the girls were quite mean and Jane Doe was so dumbfounded to not do anything about it.

Overall, these were two great episodes, but like I said, I had a few reasons It's No Picnic had seveal reasons for disliking it.moreless
  • "Parasitic Pal" sucked (get it?), while "It's No Picnic" was a little better.

    6.4
I truly did not enjoy "Parasitic Pal". It was wierd, dumb, and not funny at all. "It's No Picnic" on the other hand, wasn't the best ever, but was still a decent episode. I give Parasitic Pal a 1.5, and I give It's No Picnic a 4.9. Overall: (bum!) 6.4!

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (12)

    • When Lazlo walks in his cabin the first time, you don't see anything on the side of his head.

    • This is the second appearance of lifeguards Pierre and No-Neck, but they have no dialog.

    • The song played about Lamar in this episode is written by staff writer Martin Olson. The song's rhythm is close to the song "Polly Wolly Doodle All Day", except with different lyrics to match Lamar's description.

    • Goof: In the Buddy Day Egg Toss event, if you look closely on Ping Pong's neckerchief, instead of the abbriviation of "BS" for Bean Scout, it says "AS"!

    • Goof: In a scene in which the Beans Scouts are cheering for Lazlo on the episode "It's No Picnic", Clam's horns are missing.

    • Goof:
Before the leech comes off Lazlo's head, Lazlo is all sick and his eyes are full of pus, but after it drops off into the lake, he is back to normal.

    • After the scouts fall from the pine cones, two medics with a stretcher come in saying "hup-hup-hup-hup" and so on.
This may be a reference from Rocko's modern life as both shows are created by Joe Murray.

    • Goof:
When Lazlo falls to the water with Lamar, when he is searching for Lamar, he has no bathing suit. Until the life guards get him out of the lake, he has his bathing suit back.

    • Goof: When Lazlo comes out of the Mess Hall on the wagon, when everybody is running away, Clam looks bigger. Also, on the next scene, when the swimming race was about to begin, Clam is one of the contestants.

    • Goof:
When the lifeguards drag Lazlo out of the water, they are purple instead of orange.

    • When Lazlo crashes through the lunch hall, you can see a couple of Squirrel scouts eating.

    • When the leech first attaches to Lazlo, it is on the left side of his face. Later on, when Lazlo is on the teeter totter with Raj, it has switched to the right.

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Scoutmaster Lumpus: Attention, campers! Attention, campers! Five minutes until the start of the big... Buddy Day... swim finale. So, grab your... buddy and have a... good race! Yeah.
Lazlo: (delirious due to large amounts of blood being sucked from him by the leech) Oygawoygasoyoocha... gotta get to the lake... big RACE!!!
Scoutmaster Lumpus: Slinkman, who is that scout?
      Slinkman: Uh... Lazlo, Sir.
Scoutmaster Lumpus: No, no, no -- the fat one!
Slinkman: Uh... that's a leech, Sir. A sea lamprey, actually.
Scoutmaster Lumpus: Oh... a sea lamprey? Well, see that 'Mr. Lamprey' gets a uniform, will you?
      Slinkman: Yes, Sir.

    • Singer: Everyone loves my little buddy-wuddy
      He's my cuddly pal
      Hobbily-hoob and a zingily-zee
      He's sucking on my head.
      He's so cute
      So slimely and so squeaky
      Hobbily-hoob and a zingily-zee
Who cares if he's that creepy.

Friend's like to see my little buddy-wuddy
      Hangin' oh so mello
      Hobbily-hoob and a zingily-zee
Like a heap of jiggly jello.
      He's so cute
He should have a show on cable
And I have a hunch when we munch on lunch
Everyone will sit at our table.

      He's my little buddy-wuddy
      He's my cuddly pal
      Hoobily-hoob and a zingily-zee
      He's sucking on my head.
      He's so cute
      He's slimy and so yucky
      Hoobily-hoob and a zingily-zee
      (slows down) He's my buddy-wuddy!

    • Lazlo: "Lamar wasn't a Lamar, he was a Lauren!"

    • Edward: Run for your lives!!
Chip: Little red wagon is out of control!

    • Lazlo: Okay guys! Time for dinner!
(Baby leeches start sucking on Clam)
Lazlo: Wow! What an appetite! You'll be on solid food in no time.

    • Patsy: Did you do something to your hair, Lazlo?

    • Raj: Look! Lazlo's still sitting!
      Dave: Just like Napoleon!

    • Skip: I can't see a gosh darn thing out of these goggles, can you see anything, Chip?
Edward: Do you imbeciles really need to be wearing your goggles before you get in the water?
Chip: I don't know, but I have my floooaties!

    • Patsy: Don't touch the monkey. He's mine!

    • Gretchen: What are you doing here? WELL?
      Raj: Well what?

  • NOTES (11)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The name of the author who made the book Raj is reading is Dr. Poop, who is a parody of Dr. Seuss.

    • Rocko's Modern Life:
Every time a camper falls off a pine cone, two animals come out with a stretcher saying "Hup hup hup!"

This is what the paramedic beavers said in 'Rocko's Modern Life,' which was by the same creator.
