Show Summary

Campbell Playhouse started out as a radio program from 1938-1940 Produced by John Houseman, directed and starring Orson Welles. Campbell's sponsored this filmed half-hour television anthology series known as The Campbell Playhouse, renamed to "Campbell Soundstage" and then just "TV Soundstage". During the summer hiatus it was known as "Campbell Summer Playhouse" and featured episodes from various other shows such as ABC's "Gruen Guild Theatre", DuMont's "Gruen Playhouse" and "Dramatic Shorts".
