On January 28, 2008, Canada AM changed from a 2.5-hour format to a six-hour format, allowing for live coverage across Canada; the show is broadcast on the regular CTV network station from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and then continues from 9 a.m. until noon (eastern time) on the CTV NewsNet (cable channel 62 in Toronto), with hosts from B.C. taking over duties from 10 a.m. (eastern) On June 9, 2008, with no fanfare at all, the six-hour format was dropped. The show continued on with a slightly extended version of four hours, still beginning at 6 a.m. with hosts Marci Ien and Jeff Hutcheson present until joined by Seamus O'Regan and Beverly Thomson at 6:30 a.m.; the show aired on CTV until 9 a.m. at which point it switched over to CTV NewsNet for one more hour, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. In September, 2008, again, with no announcement made, the show dropped the 9 - 10 a.m. hour on CTV NewsNet, simply running for 3 hours on CTV's main station.moreless
