Last week's performance by the guys was way better than the schlock they come out with this episode. Almost like they were suffering from too much Canada Day celebrating! lol! The only one worth listening to for any extended period was Keith from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He performed last, which meant we had to put up with everyone else during the hour first. And even Keith was almost channel-changable, with that cardigan on. That's the type of night it was, folks! The next episode has the girls performing. Apparently, the province of Quebec isn't watching this season, so the last remaining hold-out from QC should be gone Thursday.
After a major "WOW" last week as most of the guys sang week we were all expecting more this week. Too bad we were let down. This week the guys were as bad as the girls were last week. All because (supposedly) the guys listened to the judges and moved out of their comfort zone.
One piece of advice guys: get back in your comfort zone.
The only standout last night was Keith MacPherson. He may have ended the night with a mellow song, but man it was good. I have grown to think he should be in the Top 10, and he proved it last night. Although I don't think he's Top 5 material. Keith reminds me of Ryan Malcolm, capable, but not great.
Craig is still a fan favourite, because he's young and cute. I just wish he didn't sing like a girl. And that's not a compliment. I want him gone, but I know he'll make Top 5 easily.
I was left wanting more from all of the guys.
Fortunately, Rob James (one of my top two favourites) did much better than last week. Yes, the nerves were still there, but no where as bad. Sheldon (my other top 2 favourite) also sang wonderfully. He's another one that should be in the Top 10, but maybe not the Top 5. He's just not teen idol material.
