Candy's Playhouse debuted in 1950, and was later renamed as Candy and
Nancy. The show featured Nancy Wible as a ventriloquist and Candy
Sugarpine was her wooden partner. The show, which was filmed in Los
Angeles, aired on weekdays for two years from 1950-1952. It aired on ABC
and was nominated for an Emmy for the highest daytime rating. It was
quite popular among children and even resulted in the production and
marketing of 10" records for children.
