Business starts to get rough when Henry is beaten up by his club's investors and Alex has to take over to defend him. Meanwhile, Pancho goes out on the quest for a new master blender for Duque rum.
Finally, a bit of advancement in the story, but it was so poorly executed, I mean, when Henry was beaten up you could clearly see his attackers where hitting thin air, and you could see how he was faking been hit. It made me cringe, I almost smashed my tv to pieces in anger. Why cant they just cancel this show and put everyone who watches it out of there misery and make room for new tv shows like the one I was planning, which is about the head of the cornflakes company been attacked by international rebels and drawn into a war between cereal companies...oh wait I best not say anything else I don't want someone to take my idea do I. Ok that show was a joke but id rather watch something as stupid as that than this garbage.moreless

This was a great episode and it's official Alex Vega is a gangster! This show centered around Jesse being roughed up by the mobsters he went into business with. Alex goes to Little Havana apparently a haven for toughs from the old country. These men proceed to beat, overdose, and poison with snakes the guilty parties. It was interesting how easily Alex orders death now and his family is starting to see his change. On the homefront his wife loses the baby and coldly expresses the thought of how his family is losing touch with him. Frank is questionable with his connections still with the Samuel's princess but when it comes down to it Alex going down hurts the family and therefore Frank so he'll do the right thing. On a lighter note Pancho chose a successor and Mrs. Duque comically said just because he's sick no liberties with the hot blond. Nice door opened with the successor and Alex's decent into corrupting power can't wait to see what's next.moreless
This episode has set the bar for the rest of the season. It seams that each episode until now has lead up to the development of Alex Duque's character to become what we see in this episode. He is a very good guy, willing to do some very bad thingsd in the name of justice and in the name of family. The close unity of the Duque family and the loyalty the posess to each other is very notable for true Cuban American families and the portrayal of the characters is right on the money. Can't get enough of this show.moreless
This episode makes me worry for Alex. Another secret, another act of revenge to protect his family. He's barely missed getting caught for the first and now has committed another. And this group of Cubans he is now involved with worries me. Will there be ramifications? What favors will they expect in return? His marriage is suffering and now the miscarriage can only add more stress for him and Isabel. Alex is a good man involving himself in bad things that may come back to haunt him. Should he tell Pancho? Can he trust Frank? It's a heavy burden he bears.moreless
This episode was what I've been waiting on..finally it's getting good. I was disappointed in the beginning. My mom said "it'll get good" and it is. I love the setting and most of the characters are good, especially Jimmy Smitts..he is a dream! I am disappointed with some of the characters, they definitely don't belong..but hopfully it'll work itself out. I'm hoping this will be another "Dallas" or "Dynasty". Back in the days when you rushed home to watch the shows. There has been nothing worthwhile since then and I'm hoping this will be it! Keep up the good work! Sonya Clay, Charlotte NC/Keyser WVmoreless
