  • I cant believe how terrible it is...

    1.0
I know I said in my past two reviews that I would never watch the show again...EVER, but I decided the show deserves a 3rd chance, because three is a lucky number, or at least it was until my eyes had the displeasure to watch this atrocity. I feel like I wasted some valuable time of my life, and in all honesty I would rather have watched paint dry then this pathetic excuse of a tv show. Again, the same problems, the plot is boring, the actors cant act and the story is too confusing and all over the place for anyone to understand. I will never watch this show again...I mean it this time, 3 chances is definitely enough!moreless
  • Famiily needs to stick together it seems!

    9.1
Alex trying to do the right thing. But his family isn't meeting and seeing eye to eye in his handling. Wants to use machines for sugar while the Duque brothers want to use laborers in which he disagrees with. Frank & Alex almost get into a fight. Meaning a fist fight but things calm down for once. As their dad is fighting for something. Fighting for his life as he's getting sick. As for once, Alex & Frank are on the same side. But you know, that won't last for long. Henry is so full of it. Only caring about nobody except himself. He is my least favorite character so far.moreless

Alex and his sage to take the family business into the future continues. This time he wants to use machines to gather the sugar while Duque tradition hires laborers to clear the crops. This brings him into conflict with the Duque brothers and his own wife. For the first time we see Alex and Frank are on the same side as Frank wants the plantation automated as well. Henry is forced to grow up by the episodes end after childishly switching sides on the debate between his sister and brother. We also got a glimpse of the bad element Henry has let into his club the business partners who are really just gangsters. The main part of the episode being Pancho's sickness being brought out. Which was quite emotional and the melodramatic speeches about loyalty and love of family were enough to tear up anyone. These were brought on by Pancho's illness coming out and unifying the family. Great and touching episode the only low point was the Quioness murder still being central to the show. I'm so tired of hearing about this dead hitman and the Samuels trying to tie it to Alex as if he'd get his hands dirty.moreless
  • "Family Business" was the first episode where we saw all of the major characters clash on one major decision, giving us a glimpse at how the Duque family handles internal conflicts.moreless

    9.6
The entire family is at odds over Alex & Frank's desire to mechanize the harvests. Pancho & Isabel are dead set against it. Amalia wants whatever is best for the company. Henry swings his vote with whoever is asking him at the moment. The argument comes to a head at dinner when Frank physically threatens Henry (for the swinging vote) which forces Amalia to calm everyone down by telling them that their dad is "fighting for his life every day". The family finally knows that Pancho's cancer has returned & he's been given 6 months to live. In the aftermath of that announcement, Henry begins to accept that he needs to mature as a person. He tells Katie (Alex's daughter) that she can no longer get into the family nightclub because she isn't of age and he can't be responsible for anything that could happen to her. Alex hands over his gun to Vince since Quinones body was discovered with a 9mm slug in it. Isabel overhears Alex & Vince's conversation. All in all, the show was great. The story line is really starting to improve - even though it's improving at a snails' pace. Currently, Cane is very stone-cold & unemotional. Latinos in general are very emotional people and Cane needs to incorporate that into it's episodes & it's characters.moreless
