  • Could someone please tell me why this hasn't been canceled yet?

One episode wasn't enough for the creators to realize how poor this show is? I guess not! After watching the abysmal pilot I thought maybe it just needs time to kick off. So I decided to watch the second episode. Nothing changed, it was just as bad as the pilot. I actually fell asleep this time too! And that was after 8 cups of coffee! What does that tell you about this show? I didnt like the plot, it was all over the place and at times too fast paced and sketchy, the cast seriously need to reconsider there careers, cause I could hardly call them actors. I mean, at one point it looked to me as if one of them was trying to remember there lines! Ive seen better acting from a four year old than this bunch! I will never watch another episode of this show again...EVER!moreless
  • Great acting and writing yet again!

Great acting and writing as you rarely see a Latino cast on tv. But they hold up really well in this sibling rivalry show. With Alex and the answers that he has to provide for the family and his business to the Senate. As well as try to keep his business afloat. Despite his greedy brothers. Also I love it how he handled the betrayal of someone to him. He handled it with style. And didn't blink at all. But also he is got a lot to learn and a lot on him. Still, despite the kind of position he is in. You forget it is Jimmy Smits and think of him as Alex instead.moreless

The story continued nicely in this one picking up with Alex dealing with the fall out of the murder he ordered. Beyond that we still have the internal struggle between he and the 3 natural Duque brothers over the question to switch from sugar to Ethanol production. The back and forth of this argument was great especially as one of the Duque sons continues his affair with an enemy of the family. As to the aforementioned murder watching the hitman betray Alex and how Alex dealt with him was very well done. Another lightening rod thrown into the bunch was the fact that Alex's daughter is using drugs. I hope the ratings hold up cause this show is really worth an hour a week to say the least. To be honest it has great stars and great stories well worth your time.moreless
