This show started off on a suprisingly intense beat. It reminded me of the idea behind the book 'Rats of NIMH' so I was instantly interested! It had a very hard beginning but it also instantly bonded you to Max. You wanted him to succeed and find happiness again after so much tragedy. He clearly deserved it. Despite all this 'intense-ness' the show managed to retain a (for lack of a better word)sweetness which kept you loyally returning to see what happened next. This episode was an excellent start to a wonderful show which deserved a lot more time on the air than it got!
