Supposedly the wizard from this episode is supposed to be Sypha Belnades, a helper character from Castlevania III, as he mistakes Simon for Trevor, the Belmont who was the hero of that game. If so, the writers didn't do much research; Sypha was actually a woman.
Simon: And in conclusion, let these weapons that belonged to my heroic great-grandfather be a symbol of my promise to be more fearless, more courageous, more handsome. Oh, that he were here to witness the glory that hath been bestowed upon the House of Belmont, this day. Kevin: Oh, that he were here to shut down the mouth of Belmont this day. Old Wizard: Hmm. If I remember correctly, that spell goes, uh... (zaps Simon, wrapping his whole body up in bandages, as the audience, Kevin, and the Old Wizard crack up over this spectacle)
Alucard and Dracula make their final appearances in this episode. This episode is also King Poltergeist's only appearance.
This episode is on an Australian DVD release titled: Super Mario World Volume 1. Later released in the US on DVD titled Captain N and the New Super Mario World.
