When Ochre activates the security systems of her car, the computer screen read "Security Protocols Initiated", but the voice said "Security Protocols Engaged".
The Mysteron police man's name, Rimmer, may be a reference to Shane Rimmer, a long time collegue of Gerry Anderson and the voice of Scott Tracey in Thunderbirds.
This episode replaced another episode called House of Dolls written by Phil Ford. The basic plot of the episode involved Captain Scarlet on leave and spending it with his sister Carrie and his 8 year old nephew Mickie. In the episode a car accident results in Scarlet and Co spending the night in big house owned by an old toy maker (who was going to look like Gerry Anderson). The house contained a large amount of toys which were taken over by the Mysterons (the toy maker would be killed by a marinette). The episode was eventually not made due to being considered too frightening. However the script was performed by the cast (Wayne Forester as Scarlet, Jules Dejongh as Carrie, Julia Brahms as Mickie and Captain Ochre and Shame Rimmer as the toy maker) at the Fanderson convention Sector 25 on Sunday 8th October 2005. Footage of this performance is now available on
The first episode to have a subplot.
This episode was supposed to be the second to last episode of Season 2 but ITV aired "Dominion" first.
Weird, no one has discussed Captain Scarlet yet.
